Some friends and I went on a fried chicken crawl in NYC a few years ago; NYC was undergoing a fried chicken fad at the time. Went to half a dozen or so places, Bobwhite counter, Blue Ribbon, Pies and Thighs, Sweet Chick, Birds and Bubbles, and some other place I can't remember. Anyway, Bobwhite was the winner, Blue Ribbon was good, Sweet Chick was good, the others not so much. None of them had anything on Popeyes. I've had the Momofuku habanero fried chicken, and it's really good. But fancy fried chicken overall is, in my opinion, overrated. It's hard to beat Popeyes.

Willie Mae's at #1 is laughable. It's not even the best in New Orleans.

Is this the most overrated place in the country?

I've heard so many people say the history of the place is the only thing that causes it to get ranked so high.
