Everything I saw on the shelves in there you can get at Rouse's, Whole Foods or Breaux Mart. Only real difference was growler fills, but $22 for a 40 Arpent fill is laughable.

I think we can all agree that they will not be an affordable place to buy beer. Hopefully they can provide some good product and an even better service to those who love craft beer.
I can't say I'm excited to drive over there to shop, but if they have seminars and tastings, etc, then it would be a good way to attract me.

right...don't have $ for a tip
Having money for a tip and tipping are two different things.

It's a new place and a holiday weekend. Calm down.

I spent almost $60.00 for 1/2 case of beer. what have you done to support this place? the 40 arpent canal runs thru BOTH of my plantations. right...don't have $ for a tip. that must be why the Garden Distric 10 bedroom mansion is the small town house. this beer store in the Tulane ave ghetto wont last 90 days. book it.
bookmarked

It seems as though your money could be better spent investing in some basic grammar lessons.

The rouse's I go to (Gretna and downtown) do not have that great of a selection on beer and they don't rotate their stock fast enough or correctly in my opinion.
I visited 504 craft beer this past weekend and thought it had just about as good or close to as good of a selection of beer as anywhere in the city.
$22 for a growler seems kind of high though. Most of their other beer prices were comparable to Stein's/Elio's from what I saw. They had a ton of inventory. Will be interested to see if they can move all of it, especially all of the IPAs.

Don't they have a Dunkel? I think it was that one.

So does he own 2 plantations or not, I'm still trying to figure out what he wrote.

I went one day last week. Overall I liked it. Bought a 6 pack of different beers and found the price to be good. I imagine once this place has been able to get through a couple of months you will see better variety. This is just his initial order to get things going. I overheard him say that its just the two owners and possibly one part time employee working there now. Not sure where the other poster got the idea that they had 6 employees just standing around doing nothing.

I think so, but they are Chalmette Plantaions, so really just doublewides and bricks.

regardless of the guys deliver, $22 for a growler fill is ridiculously high

$22 for a growler is high, but there aren't too many places that will fill a growler of 40 Arpent right now. So you are probably paying a premium for that.
I bought 6 bottles for just over $12. No way I could get 6 different craft beer bottles in a bar for $12. I would expect 6 different bottles of beer to cost more than a 6 packs of a single beer.
One of the owners said the first order, they stayed with bigger brands, because they were not sure how knowledgeable people were about smaller stuff. He said he's gotten a ton of request for the "crazier" stuff so he'll be expanding his selection in the coming weeks.
They do need to try to find a way to identify the prices on the beers. Maybe once they get some decent shelving in there, they can do that.

Was it something rare ? I see the grocer knocking the dust of the bombers by my house.
