3 off the wall food recommendations

I wont pretend I am a big traveler but I do occasionally do a road trip and love trying non chain, mom and pop type food places(so this thread is made for selfish reasons). *If you have anything in Branson, MO, Northern Ohio, Eastern PA I will definitely try it this summer
Give 3 random but good places from anywhere in the country youd recommend(places youd definitely go back to if you were in the area traveling).
Donuts: ScrumDiddilyUmptious Donuts- Spokane, WA Best donut ive ever had...I love trying local donut places when I travel and ive tried a LOT of them. This was undeniably the best even better than Voodoo Donuts in Denver
Lunch/Dinner: Green Chile Willy's- Amarillo TX Such a unique place. They obviously put green chile on everything and the chicken fried steak is my fav...but the reason you go is for the fried pecan pie
Lunch/Dinner: The Pioneer Bar- Denver, CO Like donuts, nachos are also something I love and ive tried many many different ones. These have the best nachos ive ever tried. This is a typical college sports bar...except for the exceptional nachos

you mentioned eastern PA so some philly spots you wont see advertised to tourists
1. Dinner with friends and fun
Brauhaus Schmitz. coolest big hall designed type german beer house with great german classics. Really fun to go to with big group and since your traveling the magic garden is walking distance. neat little art garden that wont take long to go through before dinner.
2. Reading Terminal market: Beck's cajun kitchen- specifically the train wreck poboy. The market is a really cool place to spend time in and see as a tourist. the train wreck po-boy is the bastard child of a po-boy and phully cheese steak. i laughed when i saw it, rolled my eyes when it was given to me. little did i know i was going to eat a god tier sandwich.
3. Distrito: can spend some time seeing the campus of UPenn which is a pretty campus. Distrito is walking distance outside of the campus and is a restaurant from iron chef Jose Garces. its very good tapas style foods with mexican influence.
edit: got the terminal merket name mixed up with john besh lol. not the same.

I was not necessarily gonna do Philadelphia...but damn this may redirect my trip

the market is not nearly enough to make a day of it, but hell its Philadelphia, plenty else to see while there. There is another sandwich place in there with a much more famous sandwich, the roast pork with broccoli rabe at tony dinic's. its been featured on food network and stuff so prepare for a line. i still prefer the trainwreck.
ive been championing philly as a great food scene for sometime here.
The Mutter Meuseum is another cool place not big on hit lists. its a small medical oddity museum. my wife's favorite restaurant in philly is walking distance from it. the Dandelion. if they still serve it i would recommend rabbit pie.

ETA: Random plug for Dubuque, IA. Doubt many here will ever visit, but if you go to Galena or Toppling Goliath in Decorah, may as well make a trip out of it. Surprisingly, there is quite a bit to do - good restaurants, several breweries and pretty young downtown (think it's a combination of Loras College and being on the border of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin).

Ive been through Decorah before and did Toppling Goliath. Ill definitely check out Dubuque sometime

Palmetto Pig - Columbia SC. It's billed as a bbq joint but it's really a fried chicken joint. Best you'll ever have. $12 all you can eat buffet, make sure to skip breakfast.
Seafood Atlantic - Canaveral FL. In between all the trashy fried food tourist hotspots by the cruise terminal is a small bar and seafood market that buys their fish straight off the dock behind them. Best fish tacos you will ever have, and everything is very good and fresh.
Localino/Amore - Little Five Points ATL. We have a every-two-years conference in Atlanta and I dream about this place. One of my favorite restaurants ever. Get a reservation and order the chefs menu and drink a lot of red wine.

this would be a belt loosening situation for me. all i can eat fried chicken would be dangerous.
