A well-meaning but wine-ignorant friend gave me a gift basket with 3 bottles of moscato. Other than regifting to the guys under the bridge, what can I do with it? Any cooking applications?

I would give that to some homeless baws and make sure to include a corkscrew so they can open it post haste.

If it tastes like sh!t when you drink it, it will taste like sh!t when you cook with it.

ETA: my bad. I read this as the bottles were bad, as in he has tried 3 and the wine had gone bad.

A gift of Moscato is basically fighting words.

I disagree. I use a Chianti Classico in my bolognese that you couldn’t pay me to drink but there’s something in it when I cook with it that yields an amazing bolognese.

Mix with a bottle of peach schnapps, a couple cans of peach nectar and a bag of frozen peach slices for a white sangria.

Thank the friend, eat whatever else is in the basket and drop the wine in the garbage can. It’s not a hard decision.

If a bottle is open in my house longer than a day, it goes in my pantry for cooking.

Just search for recipes using the wine...

A lot of cooking wines would not be classified as good drinking wines.

BTW say thanks to the friend do not be a snub, he may have given it to you because he likes it.
