11 Legit BBQ Chains You Should Get Excited About

So debated here quite a bit about what constitutes a chain. More than one location?
Regardless of being chains, these places look legit.
"Despite its increased presence in major metropolitan areas, in many parts of the country, BBQ is an abstract. Something you have to travel to get, or settle for an inferior product just to get an idea of what the bark-covered fuss is about. "
"To that end, chains serve as the missionaries of BBQ. In many places, they introduce the very concept of slow-and-low to populaces whose ideal of a good rib comes from an ancient Chili's jingle. This is a mixed blessing. Because chains often provide an introduction to BBQ, the arrival of a mediocre one in a BBQ desert can ruin BBQ for those who flock to it. But, though Texas truebloods might call heresy, there are in fact some chains that do fantastic work, employing master smokers to create authentic, sometimes even transcendent BBQ experiences"
4 Rivers Smokehouse
Where they are: Georgia and Florida
Bono's Pit Bar-B -Q
Where they are: Florida and Colorado
City Barbecue
Where they are: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio
and the rest can be found @

When i moved from Houston to Columbus I went to City BBQ...it's ok. It's not like a real BBQ joint, but as said in the article they kind of admit as much
Is that HEB place any good?

I like Rudy's just fine, but these are paid for advertisements on Thrillist.

The one by me is inconsistent. Brisket is always a toss up, you need to order moist and hope it's not dry. Ribs are the same. Pulled pork and chopped beef are good but they are drenched in butter and sauce. On top of all of that, their bbq sauce is terrible so you can't cover up the dry food with it. And the prime rib is well done.
But I'll admit I still eat there sometimes because it's quick and close to my work.

The sauce on the brisket at the Dinosaur place was a little too much - like something out of a horror movie.

Gotta hurt you that Corky's made the list and Moe's didn't.

Mission is legit. You see one, stop and eat.
And Corky’s ribs are excellent. Screw the haters.

The 4 Rudy’s in Austin are run by an independent franchisee and are really good. The others can be hit or miss.

There’s some people in Austin I’ve met that swear by Rudys like it’s the Mecca of BBQ. I’m always like bruh all the amazing BBQ out here and Rudy’s is what gets your rocks off?
