Let me tell you something, mother fricker. I am no little boy. Fortunately I do not know what it is to be flooded, but to criticize people for wanting to watch something that may never happen again in their lifetime is ridiculous. Nothing I can do will change the course of events that is about to happen INCLUDING ignoring the opening of the Morganza Spillway. Keep your stupid fricking comments to yourself.

How can I defend myself against such eloquent argument?

I apologize for calling you a little boy. Perhaps you are not little, but you are most certainly a boy.

And your arguments of watching the spillway be opened is like cursing God himself is a legitimate argument?

You obviously have been flooded before and I sympathize, but to come here and make outrageous arguments is just downright stupid.

Word is, the general public will not be allowed anywhere near. I've given up trying to get there.

I am so impressed. Do you work for the USACE? If so then I bet you must be a GS-10. I am in awe.

posting a Pulitzer winning photograph to prove your point seems a little odd....

OK, if one would want to go see this, one would have to walk a good mile or better. There is no place to park closer then that.

I was in Morganza yesterday. Some dumb arse was cought riding on the levee behine my daughters house. Cops and corp guys were all over the dumb arse in a heart beat! To my understanding, that is going to cost that guy 5 bills!

hey dickhead,

i lost a house when i was a kid due to a fire and im not bitching and crying and getting all mad when they show wildfires or peoples houses on fire. i feel for them but not mad. so what the frick is your problem?

areas in the morganza spillway are going to flood regardless of it opening or not. this is what it was designed to do. dont get all pissed because people live in a designated flood zone. put your house on stilts and shut the frick up.

Oh the irony of your statements. I have seen a few post from people in the floodplain that are complaining about being "sacrificed" for New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Truth of the matter is that the only reason they are even able to build and farm the area is because of Morganza and ORCS, not in spite of it. If the Corps decided to take all away all of the flood control structures, Morgan City and the entire floodplain would be wiped out by the Mississippi as it changed course to the Atchafalaya.

I certainly sympathize with the people who will be affected by the flooding. However, their angst is directed at the Corps in most cases, but it is because of the Corps that they have dry land to live on right now.

Oh, for those that plan on seeing this, the close parking will be in front of my daughters house. For a small fee, cold bottle water will be forsale! Can't sell beer.

I am with you. I live in/near the floodplain. There are areas we would love to live near here, But they flood, So we don't live there.
These places are natural beauty but there's a reason they're beautiful. the water comes with risk.

Isn't that the truth. The most sought after real estate is often the worst possible place for investing money People do it all the time though. Look at all the $300k+ camps south of Houma.
