Is that river road near campus? Isn't there a bike trail on a levee somewhere near there?

Yep that is right across from the vet school parking lot.

The floodwater assaulting the country along the Mississippi River is making its way through Louisiana. The current forecasts predict that the river will crest at 47.5 feet in Baton Rouge on May 22. The levees protect the city to a river stage of 48 feet. The photos in this gallery were taken from the top of the levee on May 9 at 12:00 pm at the end of Skip Bertman Drive.

I just got word that while the Mississippi River Commission has given permission to open Morganza, the Corps has not yet made the decision to actually open it. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but that is the word I am getting.

so the river is predicted to get approximately 7' higher in the next 13 days...does that look like less than 7' to anyone else?
