Most of the campus is on a terrace way above the plain where the sports stuff is.

wikimapia. Any way you can link to the place you're talking about? On the side that would have it flooding into the Morganza spillway or on flooding St. Francisville and that area?

No, not really. BR will make it thru without any trouble unless some clown blows a hole thru the levee. In a way that might be the best way to run the trash out of BR that moved in after Katrina.

well good and i know this makes me a horrible person but i was thinking that if it flooded to Nicholson it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to BR

Hopefully I am not the only one that will be interested in this:
Does anyone know where I could start calling NOW to register volunteer or help etc?
I just talked with a good friend with the Red Cross, he will send me some info and I will post. They are now moving equipment into place.
Once he sends the info. I'll stick it to the top of the page.....

Much obliged. I just emailed the pastor of my Church back in Covington, and am in the process of contacting some more local churches and organizations for info. If anyone wants to contact their churches or relevant groups I'm sure that information will find its way to people that will help and donate.
Dad: is there an email address you would like me to send any information I collect so you can put it up there? Or should I just post it here... just don't want it to get lost in the shuffle.

You can remove your addy.
I'll post this as soon as it comes over.
They will have a class soon, to get people up to date on the Red Cross. Equipment is being moved in and set in place.
Like I said, it will get stuck to the top of this page.

Let me know if you find any place that is looking for help and I'll come with you. I don't have any finals this week and I'm free all next week

Removing the fact that humans and businesses will be devestated by this which sucks, is anyone else in Awe of the fact that we may witness the mighty mississip change course completely? If it does, that changes the game entirely. Just amazing the awesome power of nature.
I certainly am. Although, like you, I hope it doesn't come to pass b/c of all the misery it will cause people, it would certainly be an historic event. It has, however, happened in the past.

The head of the Corps of Engineers is here with a team walking the levees daily, which I am sure will happen as the crest moves south.
This flood seems to have an extreme "pay attention" by the Corps.
