It surely isn't too bad. My brother made over ten grand this week hauling dirt for levees in the Morgan City/Amelia area.

The amount of time, money, and energy he spent building that he could have just emptied everything of value from his home and paid his flood insurance deductible.

I just don't get it...you live in a flood plain, but don't have flood insurance. How in the hell do you even get a home loan?

Not everybody has a mortgage.
30 years of flood insurance could buy a home.
