Then he is nothing better than a petty thief. Seriously pathetic. He has literally stolen money out of the pockets of supposed "friends."

Given that I'm pretty sure that playing fantasy football for money is technically gambling and therefore questionable legally, I don't think you have any recourse for the money, and it's probably a little foolish to try for that. But otherwise you might be able to report a cheating commish and get his account suspended. I don't know how things like that work. However, ESPN accounts are free, and he can just make another one next year, so I don't really know how much good that would do.

I certainly wouldn’t let someone get away with keeping my money.

Either get your money back or frick his shite up. I don’t necessarily mean an arse kicking btw.

I wouldn't stop putting up a fight with a $150 buy in. shite, you should keep hammering your point just on principle alone really. I'm a dick head though.

Wow. That’s some messed up shite. Are you close friends with these folks or acquaintances? If anything, this should be easy to cut ties because those folks sound miserable and not anyone I would want to associate with

Ultimately, it’s fantasy football. It’s not life or death or anything worth ruining IRL stuff over. Surprised at how petty people can get

I decided not to follow up on contacting espn bc its not worth it and i doubt anything could be done anyways. I rec'd 5 diff txts from players that contacted the commish letting him know what he did was wrong. I attempted to make ammends since we all said some pretty harsh stuff to eachother anyway. Basically said, this is not a plea to get back in but more of a chance for u to fix what you and your brother done and help salvage the season for the other players. He too said he rec'd txts from the same players but told me i was out of line and what they done was minor and it will remain the same. He simply wont admit that what he done effected the entire league just bc it benefits him. Little does he know 2, possibly 3 teams are following suit on dropping their entire team 1minute prior to kickoff tomorrow. Im over it, ive won this league 3 out of the last 4 yrs. i have another league im 10-1 in and i can focus on that.

Id say that one of the guy that pulled this stunt was one of my best friends. Thats now changed being seen under a different light and I guess i took it personal because I didnt expect that. I dont take kindly to being lied to especially over something so stupid. He still admitted to tanking but refuses to admit what he done was wrong. Another guy i worked with for years that got cheated out of the playoffs and the rest were just distant friends. Meet up once a year for the draft, get drunk and go to strip clubs. And gyno to answer your question, the avg age of this clusterfk is 35ish +.

Dunno man...I’m all for making amends...but don’t think you should let him keep your money.

Everyone should get back their $150 and then the friendships will be fine imo.

I appreciate the fact that I'm Captain Hindsighting on this one, but why did you drop your team? You give up *all* of your leverage when you do that. If you stay in, best case scenario is your commish makes it right and unfricks the playoff seeding and then you leave after the season. Even if he doesn't, you're still potentially placed to win the league, then you leave after the season. Worst case, he leaves it the same, you lose in the playoffs, then you leave after the season no worse for the wear.

Reminds me of divorce: he/she who leaves, loses.

Nah I like the move. Especially if the rest of the league is gonna do it this week too. Just have the commissioner and his brother keep playing games against empty teams. If they want to do that all the way to the championship just to refuse to admit what they did was wrong, let em do it. They might "win" but all integrity would he taken out.

The league is toast. If i would have stayed in and kept my mouth shite, 9x outta 10 if they are willing to cheat to get there and no one says anything, they are willing to cheat the rest of the rest of the way. If that was to happen and keep me away from winning a decent sum of money, it would have gotten more than verbal. Im willing to walk away before it gets to that point, its not worth it.

Jesus. What a fricking piece of shite for not giving money back for CHEATING. Definitely need to get the whole league to understand the theft here.

Oh they understand it, ive heard from more than half, but they are closer to the commish and his brother than me. We are just friends thru this league. Everyone as said, "im staying out of this but i agree this is wrong. I dont want to start more shite that what is already going on". Which i understand.... even the brand new guy who knows 1 person said this is some fkd up shite, which i heard the commish jumped his shite for voicing his opinion

I'm not sure how others dropping their team before will accomplish anything either. He was obviously willing to cheat, even after called out on it. So others dropping their team will just give him a easier path to the money. He will probably split it with his cheating partner and call it a day.
