Right now there is a 3 way tie for the last playoff spot, and one guy has the tie-breaker over the other 2 due to head-to-head matchups. This is the last week, and all 3 of us play teams that are officially eliminated from the playoffs. Guy with the tiebreaker is playing a huge jerk, and sore loser this week, who is angry that I won the league last year and claims the other team for the last playoff spot is "lucky," so he has edited his lineup to include 3 players that are IA in order for the tiebreaker team to get the easy W. Our rosters are required to carry backups, so he has healthy players to sub in for them. He made his intentions very well known, and there is no collusion (guy with the tiebreaker is not very involved and wouldn't care if he made the playoffs or not, much less by having someone throw him the game).

So my question is it proper for the commissioner to step in and lock his lineup if it comes to Sunday morning and he is still stating a bunch of IA's?

If it was up to me, I'd ask the guy doing it if he planned on returning next year. If so, to set his lineup. If not, I'd remove his ownership and boot him from the league.

He's already been told if he plays to lose he is getting booted, but this is his third league, he moved 6 hours away, and he hasn't sniffed a winning record in this league, so it likely won't change his mind.

I don't think you can set lineups as a commissioner unless it is said before the season starts and you have to have strict criteria. I have always tried to not get people like that to play in my league.

If money is involved, as a commish, I would certainly step in and set his lineup off of highest projected players. It's only fair. I promise if it were anyone else (especially the commish) it were happening to, they'd be pissed too. And being that this guy has shown that he's a douche, if it were happening to him, he'd absolutely scream the loudest. If the guy cries, then have commish revoke ownership of his team and give him the boot. This would never be an issue if the guy still had a shot at the playoffs

Nah frick that. Commish needs to swing his dick here and set the lineup himself.

This. He scammed his way into the playoffs and won the league last year. He is the second least liked guy in our league and known for screwing people over.

Then freeze the team, have the commish set the lineup and every one go on their way.

Not saying it didn't happen, but how did he scam his way in? And if that's the case, then why was he allowed back this year? Just curious bc I like to hear crazy scenarios that have happened before

Well as commissioner, things enter a gray area when editing owner's lineups. You can't just fix lineups every time there are players in that are inactive or on byes. You have to make the owners responsible for their own team. If they do not keep up with their weekly lineups then they get booted for someone else the following year. I had to kick out to players a few years ago for not keeping up with their lineup. Since then I have included weekly bonuses and a consolation bracket to keep people interested til the end; once a team is eliminated from playoffs or consolation playoffs, their team gets locked.

Now with this said, if owner in question has specifically stated that he is trying to frick with with playoff seeding/helping someone get in then his team should absolutely be locked, players edited for most projected points, and he should get the boot.

And what the hell is up with people in your league and lions?

So many questions.

Yes it's not a normal week of forgetting a bye player in or leaving a guy in who is questionable, it is intentionally taking a dive.

I traded Kelvin Benjamin for Bell in week 1 or 2 last season when Doug Martin got hurt with the contingency that I would trade Bell back when Martin was healthy. Martin never got healthy and Bell had an amazing year (so did Benjamin though). That was my "scam".

We both went to SLU so that's where the lions come from.

The agreement in the first place sounds a little collusion-y.

He traded Doug Martin for Leveon Bell and agreed to trade back after week one. He wanted to use Bell to beat someone in our for week 1 basically.
Bell went off week 1 and when the guy made the trade offer to get him back he declined and made some BS excuse has to how he technically didn't agree to that.

Also two players that are inactive got hurt last week on that roster. It makes complete sense for a person who is not in contention for the playoffs to not look at their lineup the last week, because their season is over and thus they probably aren't concerned about winning or losing.
