That's not 100% true, but it's certainly a lot less of an effect than with head to head.

Answer this: How does it help the teams that clearly need to focus on getting better in the future? If you can convince me how your rule proposal benefits the teams near the bottom who have every reason to build for future seasons instead of their current week 18 matchups, then I'll be the first to vote yes to it.
Simple. Go back to the mid-season FA Alls Star lists I made the last two seasons and find the keepers . Churning for players to get you some AB is how you run into an asset. But you know that. How many times have you streamed a pitcher, then he had a good game and you ended up with a keeper? You can't click to pick the next All Star if you're too afraid to drop Felix Hernandez or Dylan Cozens.
Really this isn't even about scooping up keepers. This was proposed because I wanted to know the difference between someone mercing your best OBP of the year with half the AB you had vs the same with ERA and IP. Which is not the case for me, thus I have no self interest in this rule, cwill.
All I need last season is Seager, Murphy, Rendon, and a plug and play BHam . Fill the rest with DFA'd guys when I'm in the lead to win 1-3 offensive cats/week.
It's a simple question that nobody has even attempted to approach besides Lester. If All RP and no SP isn't in the spirit of the game so we need a 35 IP limit, then why don't we use an AB limit to prevent the same issue?

What do you think swamies self interest here is?
Bottom tier teams doing everything they possibly can to steal a cat from a contender so that swamie doesn't lose ground when playing a tougher or contender team. They should do this even to the detriment of their future team.
We all play every team, though, granted, we don't all play the same teams (if you understand my meaning), but we're all going to play the duds and the contenders and the good teams will win and advance and the bad ones will lose and have the opportunity to improve through their minors or just by getting healthy.

First time all season, I think, my "roto" ranking has passed up my actual ranking

Ok, I can agree with that - You dont uncover the sleepers if you arent active on the free agent aspect of team building. But, whether you, me or anyone else agrees with that explanation, there are going to be other teams that believe there are more ways than free agent churning to build team and uncover value. Agree with it or not, some teams prefer to hold on to players and cross their fingers that said player returns to prior year glory (if he is older) or develop into a fantasy asset (if he is young/unproven). You can't just make a rule that might prevent a team from using that methodology & forces them to free agent churn. Even if that isnt the point of the rule (bolded because I understand the reason you are presenting the rule - to prevent mercing hitting categories)... If a rule to prevent one thing possibly opens up another issue, in this case possibly preventing owners from building teams the way they want to, then its a slippery slope that I think would get more reactions like mine instead of support. Really would come down to wording of presented rule, penalties for not meeting limits, can it be installed without causing punting teams to churn useless free agents just to make an AB limit, etc...

oh yeah, like OMT said when he went back to look. Less than 150 AB happened 13 times out of 190 matchups. Now I'm not sure if that happened to be 1 or 2 teams doing that either though. Either way, it's still not like I'm looking to get people booted or suggest who to add and drop. Get multiple warnings (4?), lose that pick you're tanking for or something.

Im fine with adding minimum abs since we have increased minor league roster sizes. Honestly dont care either way though.

Yowzers. If you finish 3rd by a couple of games, you're going to be pissed.
