I was predicted to fall out of contention with my brutal schedule 4 weeks ago.

I’ve held my own, I’ll do it again

Uhhh, no. Sorry, Papz. I am going to have to ask you to drop Adrian Beltre. In an effort to make this league more competitive, it should be a rule that CQQ & other teams not in the playoff hunt not worry about making their team better for the future but, instead, worry about this week 18 matchup. One of them needs to add Beltre for the sake of week 18 competitiveness. They need their ABs! So CQQ, it's your obligation to this league that you drop all of the 20 yo bench bats on your main roster that wont contribute this week and add the 30+ year old free agent bats currently available. Remember fellas, it's no longer about doing whats best for your team in order to turn it around for the long run. No, now its about getting those weekly ABs in order to compete for and possibly win an additional category for this season! Thats how you turn your teams future around!

Hey man, the rules being proposed aren't based on the self-interest of the folks complaining/making the proposals!

I didn’t know I was in a league with my wife. So let me explain to you like I have to explain things to her.

papz is actually doing what a team in a top to bottom competitive league should do, which is always give themselves a chance to win, TTT. You see TTT, papz is 13+ games out of the playoffs. His odds are very long to make the playoffs but he’s still going to put the best players on his team that give him a chance to win.

Oh I understand, alpha. You're argument's flaw is that you're only commenting on a team not mathematically eliminated yet. But we need week 18 ABs for all teams, not just playoff teams or teams still alive. At least according to a rule change that will be presented. Despite it clearly adding absolutely no value to the bottom teams who would rather use their current roster space to build for future rather than win a category or two more this season.

Answer this: How does it help the teams that clearly need to focus on getting better in the future? If you can convince me how your rule proposal benefits the teams near the bottom who have every reason to build for future seasons instead of their current week 18 matchups, then I'll be the first to vote yes to it.

I'll have a PB&J sandwich waiting for you when you get home from work, dear.

edit: i am not one who downvoted your post. I thought it was funny

The rule committee evaluates all rules with an open mind and objectiveness. Then we let the people decide.

Yeah, i know. I am being a smartass and really just busting balls. But at the same time, I do think the question I asked in my last post is legit in regards to this rule that might get presented for a vote. Just playing devil's advocate and want to present it from all points of view. Not just from teams jockeying for playoff positions.

Right

Then bad teams can tank as they please and it doesn’t affect anyone

honestly, I think scoring changes make more sense than AB requirements for a dynasty league this big. Roto or even the top half/bottom half scoring that gyno mentioned makes a lot of sense. Thats a big f'n change though. But it would allow the handful of rebuilders to continue what they are doing while still making each week competitive because now contenders will have to beat out the remaining 15 teams that haven't punted the season yet. It'll take the h2h scheduling luck out of it, thats for sure.
