Short of him supporting abortion more, what else can he do without turning off evangelicals??
It’s not what he can do; it’s what he could have done, which is not appoint justices who would overturn RvW. I’m glad he did, but that’s the problem.

My worksite is one of the more Republican friendly voting sites, but 90% of the people who have come in this morning are women.
They have something up their sleeves.
Women are normally the grocery shoppers in their households.
They see daily the effects of inflation and the cost of goods.
The cost of eggs in Texas is ridiculous. In Alaska it's gotta be higher than giraffe pussy.
That might explain the women turnout up there.

Nah, if he loses it's because the machine harvested ballots on election day.

Knowing the women around here, I dont think so. They dwell in the hive mind.

Abortion is an issue that needs to be tackled. There are some health cases that do need to go into law. Trump is more likely to result in a codified outcome IMO, whether it’s him pushing it or Dems teaming up against him to get laws passed. Dims have failed to consider that

It had a HUGE effect in the mid-terms. Don't discount it as a possibility.
I think it will be overcome, but that's just a guess. Didn't see it coming in 2022.
R's have done a horrible job of setting the narrative when they could have touted the "we gave the abortion decision back to the voters" instead of letting the left of setting the narrative of "they are going to dictate bans".
The difference this time though you don't have people like Turtle and Graham running around touting how they are going to install Fed laws and take it back from the states giving the left the ammo they needed in 2022.

This campaign was simply "I'm not the other guy" for both Dem and Republican.
its was pathetic.

quote:No. The Dems will never make abortion legal federally even if they can. It's too good a weapon against Repubs.
Do you think the Dems will ever let their prime issue go away?
Trump is on the right side of this, regardless of the outcome. I've been warning people about this, to lower their expectations.
Trump may not win b/c he is on the right side of abortion. And it's all alot of liberals can think about right now. But maybe, just maybe, in the future when they don't have a job and can't find one and can't feed their family (or cats) they'll begin to vote for what's really important.

That's politics. You have to formulate policies and take positions knowing that not everyone will agree and you will lose certain votes.
Abortion is one of them but I don't think it will be a fulcrum issue. It's counterbalanced by ALL of Kamala's "bad ideas".
And another point about wedge issues - Trump's pain will be distibuted evenly across all states or strategically weighted towards deep blue states (eg, tax reform and itemizing hurts Trump with Republicans and moderates in places like NY, CA and IL but who cares because they weren't going RED anyway).
Kamala has to deal with LOCALIZED wedge issues that are hurting her specifically in swing states - fracking in PA, auto mandates in Michigan, open borders in AZ, etc.
When you play a sport, you know you're going to give up some points. The key is to score more of them than your opponent.

This is some Josef Mengele type of reasoning. No thanks.
