It's part of being a liberal

2008 Obama and Hillary during Democratic Nomination "I'm against gay marriage"
2012 "Gay marriage is great. Please give me all your votes"
Liberals "See. They love everyone The past doesn't matter what matters is now!"

1973 Trump is sued for racial housing discrimination
2016 Liberals " Trump was once sued 43 years ago. See! He's racist! No one can change"

I must have. That's fricking retarded. I hope that is changed. Marriage has always been a State power. Either way, it will always be legal in the liberal states.

I mean... seriously? You missed the whole "gay marriage is now legal" thing?

Did you miss the Obergefell v Hodges SCOTUS decision? Gay marriage is no longer a state issue.

I haven't had time to read it but I obviously missed it. What clause in the Constitution did they use to make that a Federal issue? I'm curious because marriage has typically been a State power. I'm a State rights guy so I'm genuinely curious.

I knew it was legal. I just thought it was up to each state. Sorry, I don't really keep up with the latest gay rights issues. I'm scared might think something is up if she sees gay rights in my google search history.

They are overly dramatic by nature. They are some of the most insecure people and will say anything to cut someone deep.

. . . it was the Judge Roy Moore thing here for the last forever (after the commandments and mitzvah's) . And the fat clerk from Kentucky that stayed in the news for weeks?

it's a very messy and jumbled opinion

it basically, kind of piggy backs on Loving but doesn't really get into details

it was results oriented and logically terrible. read Roberts' dissent

quote:

Stripped of its shiny rhetorical gloss, the majority’s argument is that the Due Process Clause gives same-sex couples a fundamental right to marry because it will be good for them and for society. If I were a legislator, I would certainly consider that view as a matter of social policy. But as a judge, I find the majority’s position indefensible as a matter of constitutional law.

quote:

If you are among the many Americans—of whatever sexual orientation—who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.

I respectfully dissent.

I don't even know how that's possible. It was the biggest news in the world for several weeks.

Regardless, unless every member of the SprCrt is a social conservative, it wouldn't change. Once cases on social issues of that import are decided to the left of center, they very, very rarely change. There have been, what? 3 Republicans Presidents since Roe v Wade and that is STILL brought up as a boogeyman every election.

Obergefel isn't changing. Period.

And Trump has always been very pro-Gay.

trump is going to get to nominate several judges, and they will be conservative. they could overturn gay marriage.

I have gay friends that were recently married and they are quite concerned about it.

Did I completely miss the huge anti gay agenda of the Trump platform? What was it?

Why did Hillary in her concession speech drone on about LBGT...as if this election remotely cared about whatever she was talking about.

Libs are trying to invent a social agenda war like the Repubs did in 2000. Maybe they should hire Karl Rove.

This election had nothing to do with this nonsense on social media.
