What is the blue streaks above Louisiana? The blue streak down the coast is people that escaped NY taxes.

The blue streak down the Mississippi River and the one through central Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi are the old cotton belts. Majority black in those areas still.

It's amazing that just a little bit of geographic blue in some states can turn a whole state blue.
