Hey, learn some civics. We are all aware that Congress and or POTUS can't pass term limit legislation. We want a Constitutional Convention called to Amend the Constitution. The calling of which requires Congressional vote to take to the states for voting yea or neah. Then you need a 2/3 vote from the states to ratify.

If they will not do it, I can support Article V. Draining the swamp means draining the swamp.

The more incumbent a politician is and the more they accomplish, the more they can run on their own political goodwill.. is the theory.

I hope this is a battle that Trump sticks to his guns on. If he pushes against his own party on this, I think he can unite the country on this issue an force Congress to adopt this.

There are many issues that we probably can't find a bipartisan solution for. I think we need to find issues that we can come together on, just to relieve some of the tension between the parties.

McConnell's quote: "We have term limits now. They’re called elections." What does this even mean? Does the old POS not know the definition of term limits?

What am I missing here? If you want to limit their terms, don't re-elect them. If the majority re-elects them, it's obvious that the majority doesn't want to limit their term.

not sure you've learned civics ... in the absence of congressional action, states 'call' the convention ... there's no need for a congressional vote for any reason if the states call the convention ... and you need 3/4 to ratify ... if there is a need for a congressional vote, they're not going to vote for it ...

that's an odd thing for McConnell to grab a hold of so quickly. He's begging to get voted out.

I am mostly in favor of this but saw an opposing view point. It would make the lobbyist ticks in Washington king-makers. They could just offer to park their money with whichever candidate was willing to play ball

More than that, the Legislative Committees are based on seniority and experience. Thoughtfully so, I cant imagine some green horn in those powerful positions making decisions about the military, etc.

What you are missing is the empire building an established incumbent like Mitch constructs over the years, i.e.fund raising. The new candidate can not compete with that unless the candidate is wealthy or has name recognition. I'm ready for term limits.

McConnell is the epitome of the "Go-along, get-along" Republican appeasenik, but on term limits I somewhat agree with him. I hate to take freedom away from the American voter - even if I disagree with their choices.

Elections are the ultimate term limit. Throw the bums out.
