re: Hugo's Melt at the Reality of President Donald Trump (long)

I'm just saying....if you're going to start a thread explaining your melt, and why you did what you did in the past, own all of it. Don't sugarcoat part of it to make it seem like you were searching but couldn't find what you were looking for. Admit all of it. You trolled Trump supporters, so much so that you were banned from the poli board. You were going to vote Hillary no matter WHO ran against her. Own it. People will respect that.

The press wiped their arse with this sacred right!

However, I believe I understand why he was elected yesterday and it's not because he's some amazing candidate that will fix America's problems, make America great again, or even that Hillary was that bad of a candidate. He was chosen by the heart and soul of America, the working class people that feels our government has abandoned them. They want a president that sends a very clear and powerful message to the elites on both sides that everyday Americans can not be ignored anymore and if they are ignored, there will be consequences. I find myself oddly reassured that the American people hold this power and can exercise it when needed, like last night.

True

False
and I've explained that my support for Hillary was based on being heavy anti-Trump. Similar to the way many would vote for anyone but Hillary.

It's ironic that you qualify your support with this statement because that has been a significant aspect of the Obama administration that has been rejected by the majority of the U.S. electorate. Obama claimed that he would have the most transparent administration ever; it has been anything but that. Trump doesn't claim transparency because everything he has ever done as a successful businessman has been scrutinized and criticized by the liberal media. Trump will be transparent because it is part of his business/his way of life. It is required by law.
Trump will not suppress freedom of speech as Obama has attempted. Trump says exactly what he thinks at the moment and expects others to do the same. Obama and the Democrats constantly focus on racism, sexism, economic disparity/class warfare and freedom of speech yet all of those things are worse after 8 years of Obama. Trump doesn't care about any of those things. He's a businessman. All he cares about is what you can contribute to our economy via free market capitalism. If you're not a U.S. citizen or here legally, then GTFO and get in line. And if you are Muslim or immigrant in general with no intention of assimilating into American culture, then GTFO. We don't want our nation being transformed into Obama's warped vision of America as evidenced in Europe which is a full scale mess after implementing immigration policies similar to Obama's policies.

At least you didn't say racism and sexism. I'll give you that.

I thought your post was really well done until this...
Obama has abused the shite out of his power and nothing has been done about it.

Okay, maybe I need to clarify that. If Trump starts changing the libel laws (as suggested by Trump) or throws journalists in jail, then we've got problems.
That's facism at it's worst.
quote:
Donald Trump said on Friday he plans to change libel laws in the United States so that he can have an easier time suing news organizations. During a rally in Fort Worth, Texas, Trump began his usual tirade against newspapers such as The New York Times and The Washington Post, saying they're "losing money" and are "dishonest." The Republican presidential candidate then took a different turn, suggesting that when he's president they'll "have problems." "One of the things I'm going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we're certainly leading. I'm going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We're going to open up those libel laws. So when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they're totally protected," Trump said.
That's facism at it's worst.

How long before you close the Election board?
I am hoping Trump will be the guy who says "frick you" to no group of Americans. His love of the US is more than GWB, and that is a very good thing. His love of all Americans is more than anything I've seen in my 32 years.
When are you gonna see a Republican speak to unions? Trump
When are you gonna see a Republican speak to blacks? Trump
When are you gonna see a Republican speak to Hispanics? Trump
Those are your people. He just grabbed them by the pussy and put them on the train
quote:He sees Americans as people and American problems as his problems. Dems see letters in front of names, dollar signs, and votes. If someone doesn't benefit them, frick em.
Trump has an extraordinary opportunity as President to actually work for the American people in a way that transcends political parties and ideology.
