Dear Trumpkins: Welcome People To Your Side, Don't Insult Them

Trumpkins,
Congrats on your major victory. I didn't vote for DJT, thought he would lose, but am thrilled he didn't.
After examining the data, it is obvious DJT's win came while pulling in many who have voted DEM in the past. This, obviously, is a good thing.
I am seeing situations on the board the past few days (Tangerine is a great example) where our normal Prog posters are congratulating your side and starting to understand why DJT won. As protests continue to reign, they also see what is a microcosm of why so many Americans oppose the left now.
When they come here to try and make some equivalence while also "congratulating" you, don't reply with an insult. That is what the current regime and their ilk would do.
Welcome them and explain what potential you see...
Then pray the Rs don't screw it up.
This is an opportunity to bring people to your team. Don't stoop to the level of the American Left. That is one of the main reasons you won. Remember that.

Then tell some of those to leave out their zingers included in their congratulating. A congratulation post masking a political slant in the same sentence is a weak hand to offer.

Didn't Trump receive fewer votes than Romney in 2012? Didn't Clinton receive MUCH fewer votes? This Trump win is because of a lack of Democrat turnout. Period. That's why Clinton was pulling out the celebrities to try & attract attention to her.

Pretty sure America just told Democrats to sit down and shut up. All the protests and violence, from the left, is widening the gap between us. The left needs to learn that "you can't always get what you want."

I want to counter that by congratulating the Trump supporters (who I used to refer to as trumpettes - a term that I have now retired.)
I expected the level of gloat and recriminations toward all of us who spoke ill of Trump in the past to be much much more vehement than what I have witnessed.
SO - to all you erstwhile TRUMPETTES - THANK YOU for your patience with us and for your overall great attitude. (and that really IS my last usage of that word except for historical reference)
Thanks again - you all saw something that escaped a lot of us. You were insufferable during the primaries and throughout the campaign. But, you have accepted us back onto the right side of the track with grace for the most part.
