There have been several threads recently asking for opinions on preferred Shotgun, rifle caliber, home defense pistol, first time buyer's pistol, etc. but I had an interesting dilemma recently that I think may be a good discussion for the OB.

I attended the Ducks Unlimited Fundraiser last Friday at Cabelas in Gonzales. For those of you who don't know it was set up as a 50 gun giveaway, but there were tons of other raffles. One of which was a $20 ticket for a limited entry raffle--once they hit 60 entries they drew a winner, then started over. If you won, you were able to select ANY GUN or PACKAGE from either of the two banners shown below. I thought this was the best odds in the house, so I entered and won!

I have been in the market for a new shotgun and have been following the posts here about Beretta, Benelli, etc. that have had some great information. In the end, I settled on the Benelli Super Black Eagle II Classic! While I am confident in my choice bc I know it is an excellent gun and it fills my exact need, there was always the potential of buyer's remorse when my buddies found out what I picked...

The question to the OB is: Which would you pick, and why?

I personally would have picked the Beretta A350 or the Browning Maxus

Congrats! That's awesome. The SBEII is a great choice and won't disappoint. Its the best shotgun on the banner IMO.

In your situation, I would agree that you made the right play and got a shotgun to fill your needs. I own a SBE II Classic and would say that you did good by getting a gun on the upper end value-wise from your choices.

Since I already have a gun for everything I "need" one for, I would have gone for the Big Boy in .357 mag because I've always wanted one.

SBE2. Final answer.

why?

Because I know what it can do, and real dollar value wise I'm not seeing anything else that would be much more.

I joked to my buddy when I bought the ticket that if I do win I'm liable to have a heart-attack trying to decide!

Me and two buddies went also. We bought a 7 pack of tickets.

I heard my name called as one of the winners in the 50 gun drawing.

I didn't even find out what I had won until after I filled out the background check. It turned out to be a Wise Arms AR-15.

Congrats!

It was a fun event, but there was so much going on that it definitely took a while to understand all of the side raffles, the women walking around with the colored balloons, etc.

I'd have been the old man torn between the Dewalt and Husqvarna packages.

Thank you

I was definitely NOT expecting that large of a crowd.

Now that I know, I would definitely do it again.

I heard some guy bought $1000 worth of tickets... And won the $1000 raffle...and at least 4 guns!

After the third gun they made an announcement to that effect. Then later he also won the $1,000 gift card. I can't imagine

I’m going either:

Ruger Super Rehawk

I really want this gun anyway. Would like to get a deer with a revolver.

Or

Sitka duck clothes

I’m just trying to get into duck hunting and this would really help because I wouldn’t have to buy clothes and they are nicer than I would buy anyway.

I have shotguns, rifles,... I would rather use the opportunity to get some stuff I need want rather than just want.
