Carter said they lost over 400 trees. 200 on the course and 200 in common areas. They're targeting early October for reopening

True about Carter although it looks terrific and VERY playable right now. Should be immaculate upon reopening

They were already planning to redo the greens again right before the storm. It was not in great shape at that moment and the storm likely did not do it any favors.
The city itself is certainly in rough shape.

I have one of the volunteer vouchers for a tee time from TPC Louisiana that was supposed to expire September 30. I just got off the phone with them and they said they are looking to open in November and that anyone who has the volunteer voucher will be able to use it in December or January

I just got an email from Fore Kids Foundation about this. They are officially extending the volunteer vouchers for use in December & January only. My guess is that if they open by late October or November, the days up until Dec. 1 are being used to handle rescheduled tournaments. Also, it's not clear how long it will take to get the course repaired, so Dec. 1 is a safe bet.
Any news on the club house at TPC?

Ellendale opened all 18 holes today. Contractor crew cut up the downed trees and pushed them to the sides of the fairways in piles ready to be burned when possible. Many trees lost but many remain. Buildings may need new roofs. Membership is steady for now, they should come through this okay.

That’s good to hear about Ellendale

The course will play easier though, many of the holes lost trees that influenced tee shots especially.

I played out at Oak Knoll this past Sunday. I was impressed it was in good shape. You could tell they lost some trees but it was fast and a lot of fun.

there is nothing fun about Oak Knoll. It is a shite course.

Carter to open Saturday. No restaurant, no problem. Looks pristine, although with fewer trees!
