Hey golf baws— thought it might be interesting/ useful to post the status of any of our beloved golf tracks or clubhouses after Ida.

Rumors of major fire at Chateu (unconfirmed).

RIP La Tour?

Anyone have Ellendale status?

Anything you know post it here. Most of all hope all you golf baws are okay

Carter has some of those huge cypress trees down which will affect the views of the course but none landed on greens. Didn’t have the flooding like 2016 so overall I think we dodged a bullet. I will def be out practicing some putting on #18 and #1 while cooped up this week

Update there are a couple of trees on tee boxes which is a bummer but there are already guys working. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were playing in a couple of weeks

Also curious as to how English Turn made out as well as Metairie CC since both were in the middle of renovation and hopefully the storm didn’t set them back

Also I’m thinking Belle Terre might be in real trouble after this one

Cane Row in New Iberia had less than 1 inch of rain during the entire storm with zero trees down. A few limbs here and there but really dodged a bullet in this storm.

I went through Hurricane Opal in 1995 in Florida Panhandle where we had 2,000 trees down. I feel for the courses that got hit hard by this storm. It is a lot of work to get a course back after a major hurricane.

I still get sad when I remember how good Gray Plantation was before Rita.

Bayou Oaks North - probably no noticeable difference.

They sent an email out to passholders saying they were closed for the foreseeable future

Metairie CC

Going to be ok. Most of the grass had been sodded/sprigged weeks before the storm. Some issues, but shouldn't be huge setbacks.

I don't know how far they got with the greens renovation, but some of those holes towards I-10 had to be under water. Hoping for the best.

I'd love to hear how they made out. Pretty sure they took the eastern eye wall for a good bit.

Man I forgot about that… I bet it’s pretty devastating. Of course — the cypress trees more frame that property than come into play on most holes but …

I bet they have a lot of cleanup work to do, at minimum

Drove around MCC when I went back to my house in Old Metairie to clean out the fridges. Looked pretty good, saw some limbs down and one uprooted tree. The driving range looks and nets definitely took a beating but the rest looked ok and there were people working on it.

I just heard today that Greystone looked untouched. Crazy since the LP was hit so hard

Any details?

The NOAA imagery just shows the northern end of the property and it looks pretty bad. Hopefully its back soon. Also hope the tree on the middle of 13 is still standing.
