Has anyone used Image for Nutsedge. Does it work? Is there something better?
Just spraying fence rows and around trees, not general lawn application.

Ive used it and had good results, but Sedgehammer (halosulfuron) is generally considered to be more effective and what I use now.

For spot treatment, go with sedgehammer.
For large areas, I would use Image, becuase it has a hose attachment option, and I am lazy.

Image has done ok for me. Best thing I've used was Ortho Weed B Gone for chickweek/clover. Wasn't expecting it to work on the nutsedge but did a great job on it. Used the hose end sprayer which may not be what you need for your application.

No question about it - that’s a nice feature for whole lawn spraying.

Halsufuron Methyl is absolutely the best thing for Nutsedge. But there's a way cheaper option that Sedgehammer.
So, Sedgehammer is 5% active ingredient and it sells for $15 for half an ounce.
That equates to $9600 per pound of active ingredient Halsufuron Methyl.
Go to your local co-op and get Permit for $19 an ounce of 75% active ingredient. That's about $380 per pound of active ingredient.
A 20 oz bottle of granular Permit will be enough for your great grandchildren to still be keeping your yard free of nutsedge every year for their entire life.

Thanks for all the great tips! Going to get busy if it will ever stop raining!

A 20oz bottle of Permit is like $369? The avg homeowner will take 20yrs to go through that. Yes the $/oz is cheaper for Permit but damnit who needs a 20yr supply?

Speaking of... Did anyone else's yard take off with nutsedge in the last 4-5 weeks?

Look for Halomax 75 which is prob cheaper than Permit.

My co-op sells it for $20 an oz. They measure it out on a little drug scale and put it in a Ziploc bag. One ounce will do about 4-5 acres. Or, an average 10,000 set lawn about 20 times

I see it for about $60 an oz. I haven't seen anything cheaper than Permit at $19 an oz. Send me a link if you can find it.

Look on Farmers Business Network at FBN.com. Might have it or another halosulfuron product cheaper there. Permit may be cheaper there also but not sure with shipping included.

Just used it a week ago. I don’t see it popping up after a mow so I’m thinking it was a success
