Actual story
"Three-star WR Roc Taylor, a longtime Tennessee commit has had his offer pulled one day before he was scheduled to sign per his highschool coach"
Wow. Feel really bad for this kid especially since he wanted to go there even with all of what's going on there.

I don't like it when we do it either.

But Tennessee is probably going to want to recruit from that school again at some point. That school produces talent. This is a weird decision that screams "outsider" move from Heupel and staff.

Yeah cant imagine how we're looked at Madison prep after what we did to Major Burns late in 2020 class.

wait so he had an offer but didnt sign on early signing date. Now he is upset that he got his offer pulled before the late signing date? Yea I dont feel sorry for ya. Its a new coach, new program, new AD. Kid had his chance to sign in December. If he wanted to be VoL so bad why didnt he??

0% chance guys like this arent told well before being pulled that their spot is contingent on bigger uncommitted guys not coming.

Recruiting is ugly. Guy like Jo Jo Earle pull worse things. You take the gamble as a 3* committing to a blue blood.

Maybe he was a recruit that got "Incentives" to sign with TN.
We don't know who was involved in the Fulmer/Pruitt fiasco.

Exactly!

Per the article he committed to Tenn. in April. Now, I supposed it is possible the (then) Tennessee staff told him not to sign in Dec. But even if so, he could have called their bluff and "decommitted"...thereby putting himself on the market for other schools OR forcing Tennessee to accept his signature in Dec.

Whatever the case may be, a new staff came in after December. The kid wasn't signed then and they are under NO OBLIGATION to take him if they don't feel he is worthy of an offer. For the HS coach to get mad at the new staff is ridiculous unless THEY told him he could still sign...then reversed course at the last minute.

The question to be answered is why didn't he sign in Dec.? If it was his choice not to do so then tough shite. You had your chance to lock in your spot. Unfortunately, a coaching change occurred after December and you lost your spot. But it isn't the new coach's obligation to honor your commitment.

I just wonder what kind of stellar player Tennessee has coming in that they pulled his offer for. I can only imagine that what was left has to be falling apart for Tennessee.

The kid wasn’t getting a scholarship because he couldn’t qualify
They wouldn’t let him sign in December because he couldn’t qualify then
2 diff coaching staffs passed on this kid

Its not that TN pulled the scholarship, the beef is they should have told him sooner so he would have more time to find a school that would take a chance on him.
