Every time I mention I’m fundamentally opposed to the death penalty I get roasted. I believe that it’s cheaper and a more burdensome penalty to have to live out your days in a prison. If Trump was truly prolife and didn’t just go to the prolife rallies to pander to the “conservatives” then he wouldn’t have reinstated the federal death penalty.

I they can legally create a layer above "beyond reasonable doubt", then I have no problem with the death penalty.
But of course that would create other issues. "he's guilty beyond reasonable doubt, but we're not 100% sure, so no death penalty" just won't fly.

There was a movie made in 1979 with Al Pacino, about this. It’s a great movie.

This doesn’t surprise me I’m the least. Par for the course on how government works. What does sulfide me is the millions of idiots who want the government to be on charge of their healthcare.

bullshite. If they are scientists, you are required to believe them. Doesn't matter if they are clueless. They are almighty SCIENTISTS.
Has 2020 taught you nothing? Scientists are never, ever wrong.

Wait. Science can be wrong?

I don’t understand how she had the strength to continue after, let alone this long

Video evidence would be a start.
Ultimately I’m against the death penalty though too. It’s incredibly costly, and from a religious perspective, I just have a hard time supporting the killing of anyone who’s not an imminent threat to another’s life.

Another sad statistic to cite when people claim the only thing wrong with the death penalty is that we don’t kill people fast enough.

Being in prison for something you never did has to be one of the biggest travesties in all of history. Being truly innocent yet convicted of killing your own children?? I can't even begin to imagine. I hope she's rewarded all the money in the world

You'll get argued with by some on that point, but they really do.
If they can prove innocence without a shadow of a doubt, I agree. There are lots of overzealous prosecutors out to make names for themselves or looking for the easy out under public pressure to convict somebody.
With that said, reopening old scars for the victims family without 100% proof of a wrongful conviction is beyond fricked up. A lot of these people are the best liars and con artists of all time and they've had nothing but time to come up with a believable plan to free themselves

With their limited resources they tend to show up around retry egregious cases, not simply “well shoot his new story might make sense”

At this point they tortured this woman. And people want to trust the govt to take care of you

Trial by jury of your peers. Lol.
Every time I get called to jury duty here in the ATL, I know I would be farked if these people are my peers. 70 miles, an hour plus of driving, and a thousand years of culture separate us.
Is a professional jury of judges that are astute in the law that unreasonable, at least for criminal cases?
