Yep, we saw that too and considered cancelling our trip that’s planned for two weeks from now since my parents who are in their 60s are coming.

We decided to keep the trip and just plan to stay around the condo and beach the entire time. That’s what I planned to do before this mask mandate. Beach from 8am to about 6pm, go pick up dinner at a curbside pickup place, then back to the condo to drink and hang out with family.

My wife decided on Panama City since neither of us have ever been there. Hopefully it's not too crowded. We didn't see anything in other places for the price range we were looking for.

Panama City has been packed, as has Destin, 30A, Orange Beach, etc.

Bump for any updates.

How are the crowds? Businesses?

Heading there early Wednesday morning for 4 nights.

Masks are mandated and No booze after 11pm. Crowded and traffic is bad but it’s been that way since late April. Every week is a mirror replica of the week before. Be smart and do some research and you will enjoy your beach vacation.

Any nice (more upscale) places to eat in Pensacola that are still doing indoor dining with reservations?

I'm okay doing takeout most nights but want one good sit down dinner.

My best suggestion would be Jackson Steak House. But I haven’t been to Pensacola since all this mess. Shoot I haven’t even left Gulf Shores proper since March, not even to go to Orange Beach or Foley.

Just spent a week in Orange Beach. The beaches were more crowded than I've ever seen. Lots of traffic, grocery stores are packed. But yeah, we had super great trip.

Fun & Fork just relocated to Pensacola. Owner isn’t well-liked but the food is solid.

Just got back, went for the week to Perdido.... traveled into Pensacola to play golf, and OB to eat dinner etc...

Things are still Covid like, but definitely like living in a bubble. Still felt like the last week of the summer before school kicks back up. Masks and “some” people acting like please don’t touch me or be around me.... but most are just happy to be away from all of the noise of covid or all the BLM drama in the country. Was a nice quiet week.

Went to eat at Fishers one night, had to have mask to enter... yet not at table etc. felt silly.

Went listen to some live music one night at florabama early in the week and they said you can wear masks if you’d like but not required...:(not one person wore a mask)...

Hope to head back that way for Labor Day

Just got home from OB. Spent the last 5 days at Phoenix West. Great weather, but the water wasnt too good because of the storms last week and the west wind the entire trip, so that sucked. Everywhere was packed. Everyone having a good time.

Decided to book a place in Santa Rosa for Labor Day weekend. Can’t wait!

Got home from PCB yesterday. Avoided that whole area for quite a few years...but we found a great fit for us in the sunnyside community.

Haven't seen water so nice in a long, long time.

Beaches were not crowded on the 'sunnyside owners only' section, but they were NUTS along the rest of PCB from what I could tell.

Spent Friday at Shell Island-also awesome.

Ate at Bayou Bill's Crab House...also awesome.
