So far 489 illegal aliens with ICE detainers have been discharged from North Carolina jails in the last ten months, including those charged with serious crimes such as homicide, kidnapping, arson and sex offenses.

And any subsequent victim of those 489 illegals should be able to send a bill, or sue the state of North Carolina for damages.

If something bad had happened to my Sister, back when...my Daddy would not have sued those who released the heathen back into the community. He would have personally held the person in Authority, personally accountable. And that would send fear throughout the whole System...that if act in ways that harm good folk...you will not be able to hide behind the power of the State.
And this is exactly what will be happening in the not to distant future, as Rule of Law loses respect and gains contempt, in that it serves and protects the evil over the good. Human Nature rules, when wisdom and true justice fails. For whatever (well-intentioned?) reasons.
And examples like this, are exactly the reason that the Left can forget, ever taking the guns. They will be attacked with a vengeance, if they ever try.
Not advocating violence, just trying to avert it. Political sanity and honesty would help.

And the left refuses to acknowledge that their actions, whether it be with illegals at the border, illegals in the interior, illegals in sanctuary cities, and even criminal citizens, only works to destroy the rule of Law, and practically goads the law abiding to take the law in their own hands.

Another fake news article from Judicial Watch.
Local law enforcement can only act to enforce federal immigration laws in accordance with Section 287(g) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
It is illegal for local LEO to enforce Federal immigration laws without a Section 287(g) agreement with ICE.
Section 287(g) requires: that: 1) ICE have a written agreement with the local law enforcement entity; 2) that individual LEOs go through an ICE training program; and 3) that the those LEOs who complete training be officially designated officers to perform limited immigration law enforcement functions.
ICE has Section 287(g) agreement with only 4 counties in North Carolina. Mecklenburg County, the County specifically called out by Judicial Watch in its article, DOES NOT DOT HAVE a Section 287(g) agreement with ICE.
Local LEOs have no legal right to detain individuals under an ICE detainer warrant.
Judicial Watch is lying.
