Not in BR, but Royal China’s on Vets in Metairie is the frickin bomb.

I like Omi, but 9 Dragon Noodle House on Highland is the best, imo.
Grand Wall in Gonzales, and Foo Chow in Walker, are solid options too.

Omi is fine, but 9 Dragon Noodle House has hot and sour soup so good I request it constantly. It’s so sour and nicely hot. Nowhere else is anywhere near as hot or sour.

Im not going to eat a bowl of soup with 5000-8000mg of sodium in it.

I figured all hot and sour soup comes from the same caldron in China somewhere.

One of my favorite soups, but if it sits in the pot too long the vinegar dissipates. The secret is to ask them to refresh the vinegar so it has the sour side too.
Omi's is the best around here.

Hunans Buffet has excellent H&S soup.

My favorite was the one at Kamado & Golden Dragon before they closed.

May have to give them a try. The absolute best Hot & Sour Soup I've ever had was from a small restaurant out in N.O. East near Alcee Fortier Blvd. that closed down after Katrina. It was called "Ying King" and in a red metal building on Chef Hwy. Excellent food at good prices and sorely missed.

I really like Omi. I go there a few times while I'm in town for work in November/December every year, and I'm almost always the only table there.
