Many people complain when groups of cyclists ride two abreast in the roadway. They do this mainly because it makes them more visible, but also because it discourages close passing in the lane
OK all you biking MOFO's on the Silver Comet. My wife and I walking next to each other is this same damn thing. Just because you yell "ON YOUR LEFT!" does not mean I need to move over out of your way. You are passing me, the lanes are striped just like a street. Stop trying to intimidate by buzzing as close as you can to a pedestrian. I will laugh through my pain when you finally clip me and I sue your arse off.

Those sound like shitty cyclists. I would never pass up a car at a stop sign and blow through it while they are stopped. I may roll through a stop sign (I'm not unclipping and stopping completely at a 4 way stop with no other cars around), but so do most cars. I slow down, make sure I have the right of way and keep going. Now how many times have I had a car pass me up 50 ft from a stop sign only to hit the brakes right in front of me? The answer is plenty. I think there are tons of cyclists breaking rules no doubt, but I think it's exaggerated some. I think people overlook cars breaking a lot of the same rules just as frequently.

And here it is
I have a family member that says similar things about biking. He acts like its unreasonable to follow certain road laws on a bike because...duh...its too inconvenient.
If you're going to preach the legality of bikes on the road then be consistent. You're probably the guy that passed me at the red light the other day and then leisurely rolled down the middle of dalyrmple for the next two miles.

Are cyclists allowed to go through red lights if there are no cars coming? That is something else I see almost all of them do, yet I can't do in my car

I live in Houston, I commute 20 miles to work, I see at least 20-30 cars run red lights, every day.

They do not have to stop at red lights. Cyclists are not obstructed by windshields and have superior judgment than people who drive motor vehicles.
I think they get deputized to waive certain "unnecessary" laws after 100 hours of road cycling. Sort of like a sky marshal just with tighter pants.

Oh I didn't see 'blast thru red lights and stop signs' on that list
I love when people bitch about this as if drivers in cars dont do it all the time too.

Its ridiculous to justify running a red light because other people do it. I'm not trying to frame this as bikes are bad and cars are good.
People in cars and on bikes that don't stop at stop signs and run red lights are assholes. Eventually this behavior will result in an accident and likely injury.

And here are a few that are questionable, numbered for effect but truly in no particular weighted order:
1. Ride against oncoming traffic.
2. Ride on the sidewalk.
3. Run stop signs and red lights.
4. Don't yield to passing traffic.
5. Cut in line at a stop.
6. Don't use proper nighttime illumination.
7. Generally act holier than thou.
Otherwise, I don't mind them.
most will zip right through a stop sign and expect the world to stop turning for them ...
