A nurse at my hospital is now on OnlyFans. Making serious bank. Said she’s never going back to nursing. We’ll see.

You’re welcome.

I am a high school teacher, but because of extracurricular obligations, I find myself working every Saturday in October, and about half a dozen more throughout the year. I (and my fellow staff) begin work 5 weeks before other teachers. Practices from the beginning of school until the end of October are daily starting at 6:30 AM.

Band Teacher?

That is one thing that I think is getting out of hand. I noticed that more and more schools are trending to have their own music festivals every weekend from late September to the big one at Cajun Field in November. I am not going to say that this is beneficial to the students, but this could led to serious burn out on teachers and students especially if you have away games the night before. Also, it can get expensive on travel, with 3-4 cheese wagons or chartered buses to go halfway across the state.

I can recall when I was in school in the late 1990’s that there was only 3 or 4 music festivals that our school marched in. One year, we even didn’t try for the big one in Lafayette.

I understand your pain. I too am contemplating a career change. I am getting tired of the daily grind where I am at and due to the small staff get stuck in similar situations like you, but almost year round.

The busy nature of the schedule just makes me feel helpless at times and I just continue with the status quo only because it is what I know.

Dude, you’re a middle/high school teacher. Sounds to me like you wasted the best years of your life changing the world, helping kids, or some other bullshite crusade you created in your mind. You fricked up and you don’t amount to jack squat and never will. Just another schmuck who thinks his life is important and has meaning when in fact it has already passed him by.

You have a life of mediocrity and sound like a winey bitch.

Depending on where you are in Lafourche Parish, I bet that student burnout is REAL.

Get your real estate license.

A friend of mine is a former teacher who transitioned into real estate. She is absolutely crushing it. It was kick started by former students who grew up, and were ready to buy/sell.

She only intended to do it part time in the summer, but her business grew so much she had to quit teaching. It doesn’t come from nowhere though. She put in the work, and let everybody know she is a realtor.

Can you provide some answers as to how one can get in?

Plants are hiring process operators up and down the river It does help if you are a minority but every now and then they will let a white guy in. Make all the money you want.

I have a cousin that was basically in the same position, teaching History and coaching two sports, head coach of one. He stayed private school because the kids were better, but the pay was worse. I think he was making $40k when he finally quit after 10-12 years.

He bounced around for a bit, but finally got into teaching Safety to O&G companies. He's constantly getting better offers and has changed jobs a few times, but he's making $100k now and only goes offshore once every 3-4 months. He loves it. He's out of Lafayette and has always been able to avoid the push to Houston.

Hope that helps...

I think delivering packages for UPS or FedEx would be a sweet gig. Just driving around all day delivering shite. Listen to audiobooks, no one to bother me.

Your trolling game needs some work. The best ones do it with much more eloquence.

If you are good at even grammar school/pre algebra math, you can quit coaching and tutor on the side. Charge $50+ an hour. Or if you can set up an ACT/SAT prep class.

I’d take pics of my feet or poo on camera if it netted me six figs, but I have my doubts.

I’ve watched enough King of Queens to think that delivering packages would bring about some “calm” to my day.

I coached hs football and a second sport for 15 years. One day I was on a press box in the rain, and we were getting pounded. I still had to drive the bus back an hour, and then do laundry. At that moment I just thought……I should be home with my kids.

I now teach at a middle school. I only coach my kids sports. I’m loving it.

IT or sales if you want to transition into something within a year. In IT, you will probably have a salary similar to a teacher the first 2 to 3 years. Only certain types of people make it in sales.

I am a former middle school teacher. I transitioned to IT after 7 years of teaching and became an IT recruiter two years after. I make around 100k after taxes. I work for a franchise/employee owned format company a d can make up to 200k if our company had a record year. I knew I was gone around the beginning of my last year and landed a new job around June of that year so start your research now.
