Two day slide from $123 to $112. Suppose some of that is due to the negative news regarding degradation of battery when towing. I might start buying up some shares if it dips below $90.

$50-60?

Market cap is stupid. They’re not Tesla with all the fanboys. They’re just another EV maker. Dime a dozen. Yes, Amazon, who cares. JMO

I would give them a little more credit than that. I suspect they'll see some small set-backs in terms of actual delivery and actual performance. Enough to set the stock price back a good bit? Probably not. I'll consider buying in under $80.

When all the EV crazy settles why should they be worth anymore than legacy automobile manufacturers.

ASIDE from Tesla. We can all agree they are. Well, whatever the hell they are. A unicorn

Would not touch it anywhere near this price level. If I shorted stocks, this one would be very high on the list to short.

I opened a small introductory position at 111.5…..
I do this because it is then in my portfolio and I can set a series of limit purchase with target prices and good till canceled

I will track it since it now pops up easily in my portfolio and watch and pull trigger to dca in… this will be a long term hold for the kids… and I spread it out a lot with not more than a little lottery money…

I want a few ev… did the same with lucid… I do not want Chinese because just bothers me that the govt over there can change things at a moment’s notice…. But they do and will use a lot of ev…

I got in on IPO (thank you SoFi) and sold at 128. I knew it would pop because of all the EV euphoria but I couldn't justify holding onto it long term.

News out that Rivian is cutting their production estimates for 2021 by 300 or so vehicles. Price sliding at $93. My $80 purchase point may be on the table today.

Rivian announces a new $5 billion electric vehicle factory in Georgia

Fred Lambert

- Dec. 16th 2021

quote:

Rivian will expand its manufacturing operations, locating its second U.S. plant in the state of Georgia. The project represents a $5-billion site development and manufacturing investment.

“The plant, which will eventually employ more than 7,500 workers, represents a key next step as Rivian scales aggressively toward higher-capacity production for our future generation of products. Once ramped, the Georgia facility will be capable of producing up to 400,000 vehicles per year. Construction on the facility is expected to begin in summer 2022, and the start of production is slated for 2024. Site considerations included logistics, environmental impact, renewable energy production, availability and quality of talent and fit with Rivian company culture.”

There was discussion on CNBC the other day around whether Ford should/would sell their share. That would obviously not be good for the stock price.

I said I was going to consider buying if it went under $80, but the more I read, the more I am thinking about dropping that limit to $40 to $45.

I never bought, but slightly interested now. But even still, that is a high market cap for essentially a startup. Anybody else going to start a position here?

Absolute disaster on this thing, and yet another example of why trying to jump in on IPO day is usually never a good idea for the retail investor. Countless other examples.
