Cinncinnati’s last 4 hires have been previous head coaches, including Kelly, with a lot of success. They may go that route again.

Alright...getting my hopes up.

The ND AD did not sound like he was interested in anyone already on staff

Yep, Just watched the presser where the AD was asked point blank if naming an interim. He said he does not see them needing to do that and if they did they would NOT be considered for the head coaching position.

When Kelly was hired at Cincy, he was asked to coach bowl game so it has been done before.

Don't see how this would happen. He's probably going to be their HC. He'd be here a year or 2 max which is fine. It's great to dream but I doubt it happens.

One great thing about Kelly is his coaching circle is huge and highly respected. Even if we don't land Freeman chances are we still get a homerun somewhere. Freeman would be the best obviously. We wanted him bad last year and he lived up to the hype. He's a good recruiter too.

They're going to make a run at Luke Fickell to be head coach I think. I think he's more of a sure thing.

His wife shut it down last year. Why would this year be any different. Maybe a few million could change her mind

Well, he would probably be top choice for Cinc then in which case he definitely would leave. Ohio State supposedly wants him too. I don't think he comes here, imo but would be amazing if he does. I said that last night Kelly makes homerun hires and you better watch out. He has the tools to do it too probably another reason why LSU hired him. He makes good hires all the time and has a deep coaching circle. It won't be hard to find another homerun Kelly has connections to.

There are only two ways I see Freeman not coming to LSU. HC at Cincinnati or DC at ND.

That's basically the only 2 options.

That was likely a neat cover story, I believe it was because the likelihood of O being out soon and stating “I’ll be involved with play calling” and doing it “my man at”.
Would you uproot your family thousands of miles away under these circumstances?

You don't think he'd make a trip back to Ohio State? I think he would take that job over LSU.

OSU would need to stop doing this Co-DC thing and give Freeman a huge check

I agree...Freeman needs to get some head coaching experience first before getting that job.

Or maybe even she could see that special Ed was on borrowed time, so why attach yourself to a loser?

This would be insane and on a similar level to Saban years with several HCs on one staff
