Our country is facing a time of increased visibilized violence by white supremacists and white nationalists, including vandalism and threats directed toward mosques, synagogues, and sometimes even UU congregations. We want to follow the best protocols and keep our community as safe as possible when these events occur. We also want to avoid involving the police, if possible, as policing in this country is also steeped in white supremacy and oppressive violence, and there are alternatives that make us all more safe. We also know that the desire to protect property has often prioritized buildings over people. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “A life is sacred. Property is intended to serve life, and no matter how much we surround it with rights and respect, it has no personal being.”

Post that on a disreputable corner with their address.

Should be entertaining

Defend yourself = white supremacy

Call the police = white supremacy

Do nothing and let criminals do whatever they were gonna do, even if it costs your own life = you deserved it because of oppressive white supremacy.

They did get that one part right. St. Kyle of the .223 has shown us the path.

Ill keep this flowchart handy for next time someone is holding a gun on me trying to rob me, and only call the police after all other options have been exhausted. Idiots.

UU stands for Unitarian Universalist. A merger of two very liberal "Christian" denominations (both believe that there are "many paths to Heaven" -- except, of course, the one found in John 14:6).

The poster itself isn't bad -- there are situations which don't call for an immediate response -- though it is missing one important number, the one for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (800-273-8255).

Sorry my property = my labor or the labor of my family and friends. It is absolutely worth more than Tom, Dick, Harry, Sheniqua, or Muhammad's life when they try to steal it from me.

They live in a false reality where all criminals are open minded people who will stop doing doing illegal shite if you just talk to them during the crime.

I'm sure a rapist will be open minded to stop mid-rape...and have a discussion with the woman he's raping.

This is absolutely a good set of rules to follow for a lot of situations where people call the police for no good reason. While, obviously, this is useless for violent crime and property crime, but that’s not what this is meant for. This is meant for people who call the cops because a store won’t validate their coupon, because teens are making too much noise at the community pool on a Saturday afternoon, because their neighbor isn’t trimming their hedges, because guests are parking on the street in front of their yard, or because one of their neighbors has a loud party, etc.

We have one of these churches about 3 miles from the house. They have a blm flag hung outside. That told me all that I needed to know without ever knowing anything about them. So this graphic doesn’t surprise me in the least. Following that flowchart is a good way to end up dead, raped or robbed.

So are UU churches leaving their doors unlocked 24/7 or are they still bothering with the pretense that their building and its contents are not fair game to anyone who wants them?

Because any property crime is really just "an inconvenience they could put up with and be okay."

I guess this means I won't need to call the cops when the white nationalists are in their truck and chasing a black guy down the street.??

Look, I can't help them if THEY value my property over their life.

Actually, that's exactly what this is meant for, per the Unitarian Universalist Association website this document came from.

Ridiculous.

While life is certainly more valuable than property, there are a few things to consider:

1. The property being destroyed might impact the lives of those who own the property, including not being able to work any longer to provide for their family.

2. Those who are breaking the law are forfeiting some of their rights by their actions, and they should consider the potential costs before acting.

3. When the state does not provide justice (which is one of their only true responsibilities), then those who want justice will search for other means to get it. The long-term implications of not getting the police involved will be even worse than calling the police.

This is unwise counsel by the UUC.
