If he didn't know it when he took the job, he definitely learned it when he had to replace Mainieri. The leaks around his replacement were just as bad as they are now. I don't recall when the Johnson leaks started coming out, but he definitely wasn't the first 3-4 names being dropped as "confirmed hires"

This board, boosters with all the rumors and loose lips just gives other programs a chance to offer their current coach to stay. Fact! But that will just keep going.

At the end of the day, every AD is just a glorified salesman. Woody was not able to land a guy who he was willing to pay the highest salary in college football. In other words, he failed.
If that wasnt bad enough he also let it leak out. So now every other coach we contact knows they were not our first choice. These coaches all have egos and pride so many will likely just tell Woody to frick off.

We know Saban, Dani, Swinney and Fisher are not coming to LSU. Those are the “whales”. Fickel, Aranda, Tucker, Riley aren’t either, so who is SW going to hire? Maybe he isn’t any better than any other AD at hitting the home run hire. He is probably in panic mode now. The recruiting class will start bailing if he doesn’t have someone by signing day. I’m glad y’all have so much faith in SW, I don’t.

Scott better not bring on Mark Stoops!
Last night in the suite, we were all told it was a done deal. Monday was the announcement. We were all asked to make appearances at a reception after.
Stoops name was mentioned as Scott 's back up . We were told mot to worry because we had Riley. One Administration Official was told point blank they better not hire Stoops. Many that wrote checks are extremely pissed off right now.
We all found out Riley bailed on us at the same time last night.

Dellinger get needs to stop the story about us firing the last 2 coaches despite them winning championships. They both have title 9 issues

Well Jimbo and Herman haven’t done that well since then anyway. I’m starting to think that hiring a college coach is mostly just a crapshoot.
