Just had this internal debate. Going Ring. We already have 2 Alexa devices and the subscription is cheaper.

I probably would prefer the Google option b/c I'm pretty much in their ecosystem, but the fact that we already have Alexas makes that the likely best choice.

I have a Ring one now and hate it. Had Nest cameras at the last house and they were great, so likely going to change back to an all Nest platform.

I am going with the new Blink doorbell because I already have the blink cameras and don't want to spend money to switch to another system right now.

Also adding a few of these switches in some rooms

My ring doorbell got hacked and the SWAT team broke my door down at 3am.

Don’t recommend.

The picture and video quality and accessibility seemed to be muuuuuuch better with Nest.

I have the pro doorbell and the clarity is only good within 10 yards at best. To zoom in, is non existent regarding clarity. My phone has a better camera in it…. It takes forever to pull up the video feed if someone rings the bell any by the time you do make contact, they’ve probably already walked off your porch.

News article about it

Basically they hacked my ring, got my info, called the cops saying I’m murdering my family, talked shite to the cops through my doorbell, cops broke the door down and luckily didn’t shoot me.

Google Nest wireless (but hardwire it) doorbell. Don’t consider Arlo. It’s garbage.

Buy $49 Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen), connect with ease and get alerts and live video on Hub (and phone of course).

It really depends on what ecosystem you want. I have google and nest is just fine. Google home runs my smart house very well

But the battery version can be hard wired, can’t it?

I had the ring and got tired of the monthly subscription. Also, I would get a notification that someone was at the door and it would take 30+ seconds for the video to load up. I went with Eufy instead and have been happy with it. No monthly subscription.

Would post a link but my brain isn’t working.

Yes, correct.

Wasserstein has some very good "bundle" deals. They make many of the accessories to fit the Google products.

Same for Arlo.

Google Nest Doorbell notifies almost instantaneously. It appears to be about a 1 to 1.5-second delay, which is good for "wireless."

How about maintaining a little bit of disconnect in your life and don’t install any kind of smart doorbell? Honestly, what do you need it for? Does your neighborhood have a problem with armed gangs posing as Sunflower Girls selling cookies door to door? Do you really need to know the exact second a delivery is left at your door? Don’t fall for the paranoia - no one’s scoping your house out to steal your kids. What kind of a narcissistic society do we live in?

Just be sure to post the grainy video footage of a grey or white Sentra going down the street after a neighbor gets ding dong ditched. That’ll help.
