Cops pulling over drivers, but only to give out turkeys: Good idea or bad idea?

These stops are unlawful, right? And all it takes is a twitchy cop and an innocent driver with a lawfully owned firearm in their passenger seat before someone gets their head blown off because some cop wanted to give them a turkey.
Edit: For those wondering what I mean by “twitchy” police, Mesa Police were the same police that shot Daniel Shaver.

Why would a cop be twitchy about giving away a turkey? Will be interested to see how many people get pulled over to be gifted and just jump out and run

These cops are just looking for warrants, and when it comes back empty that's when they give them a turkey.

They may not be initially twitchy. But cops freely admit that their adrenaline spikes when confronting a person and they see a firearm.
Seems unnecessary to initiate a tense encounter with someone all for giving them a turkey they may or may not want.

That’s how my cousin died. He was a libertarian and vegan. When a cop pulled him over without legal cause to give him a murdered turkey, the situation escalated quickly.

So anytime anyone is pulled over by a cop it should be only for some negative reason?

The only time a law abiding citizen should interact with a cop is to report a crime. Anything else is disguised taxation looking for fines to inflict.
