Before dinner, I brought up that crazy Women's March $14.92 apology. That somehow got my Brother-in-Law (who often makes off subject replies) to say something about how Rittenhouse should have been found guilty. OK, he opened the door, not me.

So I say something about the evidence, get the not-unexpected "Well, he shouldn't have been there!". I told him I'll engage in that as a separate conversation, but guilty/not-guilty is a legal matter, and has to be based on the evidence and law. "Well, he shouldn't have been there." (shrug)

Then Sister-in-Law (his wife) jumps in, shouting: "He's GUILTY! He carried a MACHINE GUN across state lines!"

Oh my. I wasn't even going to bother with the distinction between a Machine Gun and a semi-automatic rifle. I told her he never took a gun across state lines, it was legal for him to have the gun (no gun charges were allowed) and told her that is a fact. And how can she be so certain of guilt when she doesn't know the facts of the case - a young man could spend most of his life in jail, he needs to be judged on the evidence (which the jury correctly did).

Again, no surprise, but she goes off in a huff rather than respond. It's really scary to me that people can form such a strong opinion w/o knowing anything about it.

Well, for the rest of the people there, I did get a chance to repeat my usual lecture that when you hear something on the news, ignore it unless you are going to dig into the source info to find the real truth. The media, any media, cannot be trusted. And I got a chance to paint a better picture of Jacob Blake, that the story didn't start with "shot in the back while getting in his car", and got into the long rap, pedo charges on the attackers. Gee, just co-incidence that they ALL had rap sheets, while Kyle's record is one of cleaning graffiti?

And they get to vote. Scary, scary, scary.

This doesn't make any sense.

Were you in the kitchen helping prepare dinner or did someone let the women out for some reason?

Need more details.

14 months. The media, social media, politicians, Hollywood...used 14 months to engrain in millions of people a false reality.

Truth and facts no longer matter to them.

My lib family members only made comments about how he "shouldn't be celebrated" and they were bristling at the possibility of him filing lawsuits. I think they know deep down it was the right verdict.

What we mistakenly refer to as news is just social programming designed to reinforce whatever the establishment narrative du jour is.

They believe in the validity of the news so until they can be shown repeatedly how they are being lied to and reject that messaging you will certainly be viewed as the crazy one because your frame of consciousness is completely parallel to theirs.

Remember it's their religion. Everything they do and say has to be taken in that context. The politicuans are their priests and the media are their deacons.

You're basically telling them their church is a lie.

The key to all of it is the facts and actual laws. It’s not about how we feel or the lies that are repeated.

We can only hope if we ever find ourselves in a court, that our peers do the fair job Kyle’s jurors did.

I would have followed her and peppered her with facts until she cried.

I’m taking my 2 nephews out to my place today for some outdoor fun. They are down from Nashville. I told my lib sister not to worry the machine gun doesn’t kick too bad. She is worried they are gonna have fun.

Any adult with a job and family that continues to believe the leftist media is incapable of critical thinking. They are effectively brainwashed.

At my Thanksgiving gathering, we vented about how everyone is talking about the (rightful) Rittenhouse verdict, while the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell (an actual, huge deal implicating world leaders) is happening and the sheep are silent about it.

She knew what MSNBC and CNN told her about it. And it was "fact checked" by somone on twitter so it has to be true.

Like George Carlin once said. Think about how stupid the average American is and realize that half of them are stupider than that.

Maybe an IQ test should be required before voting!
