Why it should be Kiffin if not the big fish

If for whatever reason the bigger fish like Riley, Fickell, or Hail Mary Rhule can’t be reeled in, I think it would be a huge mistake to pass on a coach with the experience, offensive innovation, and unlimited potential of Lane Kiffin for purely speculative shots at this level in coaches like Aranda, Napier, or even Campbell.
Kiffin has been coaching at the highest level in the most competitive environments for two decades as both a HC and high level assistant.
He’s won multiple championships as a play caller and coordinator, he recruits at a high level, and creates an air of excitement that players love wherever he works.
His reputation as a job hopper is completely overblown, as I’ve argued repeatedly LINK
His “issues” that people vaguely allude would be some sort of detriment to our current Title IX situation are completely irrelevant and are again blown out of proportion. Even if they were at all related, which they aren’t, his Freshwater days were years ago and those silly click bait reports never caused any difficulties for either FAU or Ole Miss in the five years since they became social media sensations for idiot Twitter-twats.
The guy is still young, extremely competitive, and would be driven even harder to succeed at a place like LSU where the pinnacle is actually attainable.
For decades we’ve heard that LSU is always just a quarterback away from the penthouse of college football.
Joe Burrow proved just how true that was in 2019, so we can’t forget that assuring elite QB recruiting and offensive innovation should be the very first priority for the future of LSU football.
If Riley isn’t the next coach, Lane Kiffin would absolutely be the next best thing to make that a reality.
Don’t be a pussy, Woodward. Bring in the Lane Train and watch all of Tiger Nation enjoy the ride.

This is exactly how long we were told it would be before the new coach was announced.

I hate that college football is almost over
But I'm so ready for this to be over.

LSU is above Kiffin at this point.

What has gone on too long. Season isn't over yet. No coach of any stature is going to cut bait with their current team in the middle of the season. Especially if they are playing for something.

Did you expect something by now? If so, you're not functioning in reality.

a huge mistake to pass on a coach with the experience
The experience of taking the No 1 Team and driving the program so far into the ground that it never recovered. The experience of a head coach whose signature win the past 10 seasons is vs average Aggie. Hard pass.

If we can't get Riley, I would want Kiffin. But, I don't think it'll happen.

Nothing in this post is true. He's a massive piece of shite and a terrible coach.

Anyone who thinks this has gone on too long is a frickin moron with unrealistic expectations. A new hire was never going to be named prior to the final week of the regular season AT THE EARLIEST unless the hire was currently out of football.

Gone on too long?!? The timeline has ALWAYS been after A&M.

Forgot to me that Kiffin can’t recruit. I give him two more years and he’ll be out.

I’m not talking about the hire, I’m talking about the ongoing debate over potential candidates.
When the decision was announced a lot of people thought Kiffin had potential because of the imperative of an offensive guru as the replacement.
But other names emerged and Kiffin was shrugged off as not realistic. But after months now, we’ve moved so far away from the goal of offensive innovation that I personally think it’s time to refocus on that goal.
