She was the highlight of the show for me. I love her character’s deadpan humor. She’s way more entertaining than Black Widow’s too-cool persona.

Of course the whole vendetta angle didn't make the most sense. Why wouldn't the story of Black Widow's sacrifice not be public knowledge - especially among those who were dusted and brought back? Or was it and she just chose not to believe it?
I didn’t understand this either. I don’t know why she would ever think Hawkeye did anything wrong at all.

I don't think the Avengers were doing any media tours after End Game. Also, Clint isn't exactly the chatty type and he was the only one who witnessed it. How many people know what really happened?

quote:I think she understood Clint got Natasha out of the BW program, so if anything happened to her it was always going to be Clint's fault indirectly. Nat was probably the Alpha widow, relatively unlikely she'd ever have gotten snuffed (if not for Clint and SHIELD coming for her). He drug her out of the shadows, and Yelena blamed him for that.

Tony ran press conferences all the time. The US Gov seemed to use Cap and Iron Patriot (War Machine) for propaganda. In Falcon and Winter Soldier, people sorta knew who Falcon was.
The "Thanos was right" graffiti, that implies word got out what happened. People knew who Thanos was by name... think about that a moment. There was zero public announcement directly by him, a brief moment with the Black Order in NYC before Iron Man, Dr Strange and Spiderman interceded.
All this strongly suggests that the majority of the story got put out on CNN or something, to maybe calm the masses down.

I binged the whole series last night.
Fantastic!
I just read this whole thread and it was cool to see the running commentary as y’all watched it play out, knowing where it was headed.
The reveal that Laura was probably a Mockingbird is a great way to explain why she is so understanding of Clint’s superhero lifestyle keeping him away from home for Christmas.
Kingpin is definitely not dead.
Yelena was so awesome I think I’ll watch Black Widow even though I’ve heard it sucks.

Also,
What is it about Linda Cardellini? She gets my motor running man.
I think it's the crush I've had on her since Freaks and Geeks.

Watched it over the last few days. It was a fun series. I saw a video on YouTube as to why Kingpin was the same, yet different (more super human) from his Netflix persona. If I can find it again, I’ll edit in a link. But it seems at least Daredevil and Kingpin become MCU cannon, and possibly The Punisher as well if the actor can reach a deal with Disney.

Google Image “Velma” and see how many results are R/X rated works of art. She got in your head through that Scooby Doo mindscrew.

THE Mockingbird, Agent 19 herself.

Thought this was the best Disney + series so far. The finale was just so-so for me. My biggest gripe is that the Netflix Kingpin would not suffer the fools that were the Track Suits.

Same Kingpin. He lost a lot of his empire while he was blipped and is building it back
Are we told he blipped? Didn't Clint imply that he(Ronan) killed Echo's dad on orders from Kingpin? That would have happened during the blip.

There was a LOT that happened between the Battle of NY and Endgame, though. That battle happened 12 years before the events of Hawkeye.
Best I can piece together from the MCU timeline:
- 2012: Battle of New York (The Avengers)
- 2015: Battle of Sokovia (Age of Ultron)
- 2016: Sokovia Accords (Civil War)
- 2016: Yelena freed (Black Widow)
- 2018: Thanos Snap (Infinity War)
- 2023: Blip (Endgame)
- 2024: Hawkeye/FaWS
So I think all of the Avengers’ actions prior to Civil War (2016 in the timeline) are pretty well-documented. Then the group splinters and everyone except Stark, Rhodes, and Vision are basically operating in the shadows until Infinity War brings everyone back together.
Once the snap happens it makes sense that there would be some sort of public explanation since the main faces of the Avengers - Stark and Rogers - are still alive. You had very public figures who likely would have informed the public, in some way, of what happened.
Fast forward 5 years to Endgame, when the “blip” happens and Yelena reappears. Natasha had just sacrificed herself but then Stark dies, the Avengers Compound gets destroyed, and Rogers decides to stay in 1970. There’s not really a public face of the Avengers left to tell the whole story.
So Yelena reappears and goes looking for her sister. She finds out her sister is dead, and somehow she finds out that Barton was involved. But she doesn’t have the details to know her sister had voluntarily sacrificed herself in Vormir.
All of that makes sense to me. It’s the part where Yelena immediately escalates to “kill Clint Barton” that seems like a leap in my view. My theory is that she was probably manipulated by someone - maybe Fisk - with an agenda.

How many people did Jacques Duquesne kill there at the end? He was swinging that sword like he'd been looking for an excuse to skewer people.

Is it too soon to discuss which one of Die Hard or Hawkeye is the better Christmas movie?
