From CNN so you don't have to click: https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/23/business/best-buy-retail-theft/index.html

New York (CNN Business)Best Buy CEO Corrie Barry said theft is a growing problem at the company's stores — and it is implementing added security measure to safeguard employees and shoppers.

"This is traumatizing for our associates and is unacceptable," Barry said on a call with analysts Tuesday. "We are doing everything we can to try to create an as safe as possible environment."

Barry said the company is implementing a number of tactics to minimize theft and protect staff and customers. For example, Best Buy is locking up more products and hiring security when appropriate.

Barry said organized retail crime is on the rise at Best Buy. The tactic involves an organized "gang" of people who steal entire shelves of high-value products, such as electronics, to resell them for a profit.

The crime surge is becoming such a problem that it is hitting Best Buy's (BBY) profits and could hurt its ability to retain and attract more employees in a tight labor market, Barry said in an interview Tuesday on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street."

Some incidents involved individuals bringing a weapon, such as a gun or crowbar, she said.

The retail industry is struggling to handle the escalation in organized retail theft. A 2020 survey of 61 retailers from the National Retail Federation, the industry's largest trade group, showed organized retail theft jumped nearly 60% from 2015 and cost stores an average of $719,548 per $1 billion dollars in sales

Imagine thinking you could sustain a functioning society by choosing to just completely turn a blind eye to shite like this.

I’d wager that Best Buy donates huge sums to the Left and totes their message in boardrooms.

When you stop prosecuting small crimes you are inviting middle to large crimes.

Shipping companies used to have the same problem with the Somali pirates. After about 3 years they decided to put 2 guys with machine guns on board. Problem solved.
Why did it take them 3 years to find a solution a 15 year old boy would recommend? Not sure.

Once the economic implosion and "criminal justice reform" has forced most bricks and mortal retailers to close shop, there will only be a few big retailers left. Those will likely be ONLY online shopping like Amazon. Then, between the credit card companies and the PayPals and the Amazon's being on the side of the govt, you will be told what you can and cannot buy. It will all be controlled digitally. If you don't behave, you will not be allowed to buy anything. Squeezed out of the new communist society for those who defy big brother.

Marxists are destroying each city one by one. Stores are closing due to theft and safety reasons. The small retailer is the first to go in these Marxist strongholds like SF, LA, NY, and Chicagistan. It's only a matter of time before the cancer spreads to the suburbs or the Conservative cities. All it takes is for Soros to get his DA's in place then the criminal element/illegal immigrants are elevated above the law biding taxpayer.

The desired result is a 1% that controls the entire country and the rest of us all get pushed into 1 low level class that is at the mercy of a Marxist gov't.

Will be a bigger and bigger push to online shopping.

Don’t appear to be hitting locations with tools and work products yet.
