I need to get a new pair of boots soon. I currently have some Araits that while comfortable haven't held up great. I want something similar in appears, but maybe better quality. These are what I have now... any suggestions on something similar?

Got a pair of Justin Stampede Ropers last year and I'm a big fan. Very comfortable and I've still got a similar pair of Justin's that have held up for 12years.

I've been wearing Dan Posts for about 7 years now. The soles have held up pretty good but I'm only wearing them to work in an office.

Look into Double H as well, especially if you have a wide foot. I have owned just about all the brands in this price point. My opinion is find the one that feels the best and buy those. I wear boots daily and I am pretty tough on them, and I haven't found a brand that is light years ahead the others in the 150-200 price range.

What happened to your Ariats? How long have you had them? Just curious. I have a pair similar to the ones below and I've had no issues with them. ETA: Mine are the Heritage R Toe Western Boot. They are 11" I think - so a few inches higher than ropers.
If you are looking for another brand, though, I have also had good experiences with Georgia Boot.
GEORGIA BOOT CARBO-TEC WELLINGTON
Be careful with the Georgia ones, though - that Prairie Chestnut color is much lighter than it looks. They essentially look like Timberlands.
Had a pair of Justins and apparently I just didn't spend enough because they wear cheap as hell. Felt more plastic than leather and did not break in. I would've kept them but I literally could not move my foot from the gas to the brake when driving in them.. so that was a bit of an issue

I switched to a double H in July, because they were made in the USA. I threw them in the trash this past weekend, and I now have on a new pair of foreign made ariats. The double H sole was ruined in one month of wear. I put in a new sole and wore them till my hip started hurting.

I’ve had this pair about 2 years… the sole has just worn out really quick. I do have 2 other pair of Araits that have held up better

Those Tevoca’s look nice but a little to “fancy” for me

Second Lucchese. However I ordered recently directly from their website and for some reason they took forever to actually ship them. Even in ee, they are tight compared to the double h, but they break in nice. This will be the first pair with rubber tread so will have to see how well they hold up. Reviews of the rubber soles are mixed in the reviews

I wear these on most days. I climb alot of ladders so needed the heel. Thorogood American Heritage, 6" Crazy Horse, steel toe.

Also have these Double H pull ons. They have a hard sole. Like someone else below me said, if you wear them alot, they hurt your feet.

Gonna get these when they have my size. I had a pair years ago, they lasted a long time, I wore them at work, going out, everything. I wanted to get a nicer/dressier pair of boots, that's when I bought the Double H's above. I can't wear them too long or they hurt my feet. They look good but that's it.

Are these for work? If so Justin's and Ariats have always worked well for me. If not for work I wear Tecovas and Black Jacks. Will eventually get a pair of Lucchese.

Nah, just general wear. Mostly with jeans, but will wear to work sometimes.

I’ve had this same pair for about 8 months and I’ve already worn out the sole. I too liked the color pattern of the upper but I just wish Ariat can make a sole worth a damn. I had a Pair of their steel toe boots that I tried to break in for a month and I threw them in the trash because they hurt my legs. It took six months to recover.
This is my every day work boot and I’ve had Irish setter/red wing boots for three years and I love them. This pair has lasted me over a year and I’m on my feet 6+ hours in a day on cement. You get what you pay for and while they are a tad more expensive, they are made to a better standard.
The iron ranger is a pair I have as a casual boot and it can be re-soled after they’re worn out. While expensive, they’re great. Don’t forget the moc-toes. Plus these are made in the good ole USA.

These links show how well made they are with great detail. Dude knows his stuff.

While not what he’s looking for I’ll second the Iron Rangers. I bought a pair for a UK trip as I like to pack light and wanted something I could hike in and also wear to a decent restaurant. After some Huberds and a little break-in period they’re my favorites when it’s not 95 degrees outside.
The Wolverine 1000 Mile boots are supposed to be pretty comparable but I had to pick one and went with the Redwings.

I'm on my first pair of Danner and they are excellent so far. Super nice standing in them working.
They look good as well. I double oil em when I get them in with a hair dryer to heat cycle between. Darkens them a little.
