Would the O-T snitch on someone committing unemployment fraud?

TL/DR: guys are faking job interview requests to keep sucking the gov't tit

I've been trying to hire on new employees for the last 3 years. I've had the same problem finding people as everyone else, so I made a profile on Indeed.

There's this one guy who applied for a job, came to my job site and interviewed. He was a bit older, but looked to be in good shape, so I hired him, but he didn't show up the next day. I texted him about it, and he said he needed time to get his tools. Long story short, he never showed.

Two months later, he texted me out of the blue asking for another chance and apologized for the last time. I was hurting for workers, so I told him to be at work the next day. He never showed.

Fast forward 6 months, he applied again. I didn't recognize the name, but when he came to interview, I knew his face. I offered him a job again out of curiosity. Of course, he didn't show. So, I call his phone. He claimed he was working all night at a casino buffet and was heading to the job site. He never made it.

Two months later, (last week) he applied and texted me AGAIN! I asked around if anyone had this happen to them. Someone suggested he was on welfare and using this as a way to show he's been trying to get work. Apparently, as long as you show you're trying to get a job, you can keep collecting checks.

Since this, I've had multiple people ask for an interview who never show up. Most of them in the food industry and oddly enough, I've had 4 diesel mechanics asking for an interview.

Should I turn him/them in? Or should I respect the hustle?

Arkansas division workforce....

quote:

ADWS is asking employers to let them know when people refuse job offers, fail to show up for interviews, fail to pass or show up for drug tests or refuse to return to work when recalled. Unemployment claimants may be disqualified if they refuse offers of suitable work. ADWS said often times they don’t report it themselves, escaping disqualification, which is a form of fraud.
