Mississippi guy coming down to south Louisiana for an engagement party south of Lafayette. My question is are the boudin shops in Scott open on Sunday mornings? I REALLY want to sample most or all of the Scott boudin while I’m down. Will I need to stock up Saturday afternoon, on the way down the Jeanerette, or can I wait until Sunday morning when i get up and get ready to head back to MS? TIA!

I don't think that's physically possible.

Most of them are fairly busy on the weekends so be prepared for some wait but it is worth it.

Get boudin, boudin balls, and don't forget some gratons. Fill up.

Why nobody ever mentions Legnon's Boucherie in New Iberia just amazes me. It's gotta be because you haven't tasted it. The only one on your list I haven't tried is NuNu's and Legnon's is easily as good as, if not better than every one of those. And that's a fact.

It’s actually very easy. All of the boudin stops in Scott are within a few miles of each other. if you start at Nunu’s, leave the parking lot and go right. Take the next right. You’ll end up at Dons. Leave dons back the the round about and hit Billy’s. Leave Billy’s head north and hit Karthcners and Best Stop. Drive time is less then 5 minutes.

Stand in line time on a Sunday???

We stood in line at Billy’s last Sunday morning for 45 minutes, pepper jack boudin balls were great though

That's the only wrinkle. Otherwise, CoachChappy's plan is perfect. If the line is too long at Billy's, and there will be a line, I'd say after Don's head north out of the roundabout, cross I-10, and go a few miles to Best Stop and Kartchner's first, then come back south and go to Billy's.

Make sure your phone is charged, because I've waited a whole hour in line at Billy's.

or it could be because new Iberia is 40 minutes out of the way from Scott which is what this thread is about

Yep, the line at Billy’s is retarded long. I live in Scott and have only been to Billy’s 3 times. Hell, I’ve been to the one in Carencro more than the one 2 miles from my house.

Billy’s is good, but not THAT good.

If you have time, go to Landry’s Donuts on Westgate in Scott and get a donut hole boudin bomb. I just had one for the first time this morning. Wow!

I ate it about 8 years ago and it was terrible. Nothing but the orange grease. Perhaps they got better since then but back then it was just bad.

Been to Legnons dozens of times , right next door to Pelletin Funeral Home. Good boudin, not great … to much rice and not enough spice for my taste.

Edit: instead of waiting 45 minutes in line at Billy’s in Scott, you can wait 3-5 minutes in line at the Carencro location (1 mile north of I-10 off I-49 & Pont does Mouton … very easy on/off) located inside the Exxon gas station

I guarantee if you put Billy's in a blind taste test against some other places, many folks who proclaim it as the clear #1 would choose differently. That's exactly what happened to me.
