We are at the point where if it’s not a home run hire, it’s a big failure on Woody’s part

He’s had PLENTY time to get his ducks in a row in order to make a huge splash hire. It’s not like this search has been rushed! This morning has put me through the entire 360 of coaching search emotions - from a huge high thinking Riley is coming to now the letdown after the inevitable “sources” reports of him staying at OU.
Tucker has an extension and raise, Jimbo is staying put, Aranda is probably going to USC, etc. Who else is left now? I know Napier is always an option but he’s just the new hot girl that nobody REALLY knows yet. What if we have to settle for him and catch chlamydia? I’m worried we’re going to catch chlamydia when this is settled.

What would have you him do? He has offered pretty much everything he can to hire Lincoln, if he still doesn't want it that is on Lincoln, but he has to wait until he knows for sure. 80% of the fans don't even want Jimbo so why is that a failure in your eyes. Other than that all the other candidates are on the table, he just hasn't moved to them yet? So I ask again, what would you have him do?

People need to realize that this hire was not going to be made during the season. People are mistaking a hire not being announced for us missing on potential candidates. Have some patience. If we don't have a coach named by December 10th then start getting worried.

No matter who he hires, people will bitch. Some immediately and some as the tenure roles forward. There isn’t a single name I’ve heard here that is “the” guy. Just candidates who are better than the others.

But historically speaking fans don't know even know what a home run hire is.
A few years ago people wanted Herman and Jimbo. In fact the few times people mentioned Lincoln as a candidate in 2016 they got downvoted to hell.

You are getting a lot of downloads on this but you’re telling the truth anything less than a big-time hire is a failure for a woody. If he settles for Napier Campbell or Aranda, I feel that it’s a failure. Everyone’s in love with Dave with what he’s accomplished at Baylor. You need to look at the road to that success. To me the big 12 is nothing to brag about. Not enough sample size for consistency.

To me the biggest mistake, if we don't get a great coach, was firing O mid season an allowing universities to protect their guy...SW could've been conducting a search regardless of firing O or not. Had we waited we could've made the hire before other programs had a chance to counter
