To me, Here Comes The Sun is the height of Abby Road. That and Something brought out a creativity in the others that just makes them shine more brightly.
I agree with that. I think Lennon said Something was the best song on the album in his opinion. That's high praise from someone who wrote half the other songs, and one of the best songwriters in history.

On a side note, have you gotten the Lost Beatles Albums?
Nah, I'm not much into stuff like that outside of maybe listening here or there to alternate takes on the Beatles Sirius channel. I do own the entire Beatles catalogue of songs (the "official" catalogue of 213 songs from their "core" albums...basically every official Beatles song minus Free As a Bird and Real Love, which were from Anthology) on vinyl though:
I got started when I bought some off of antiquetiger (dude who posts his garage sale finds on the OT), then filled in the gaps buying vinyls online. I actually am picking up a couple more Beatles albums from him today (With the Beatles since you can see in the picture that my cover for that one is fricked up, and the Beatles' Story album).

Nice collection
I'm a Beatles music collector myself. I have everything they released in the U.S. as a band, as far as American release albums, British CDs and American release CDs. I'm now working on the solo stuff in CD format. So far I have all Lennon, all McCartney/Wings sans Back to the Egg, all Harrison, except Somewhere in England and Gone Troppo and only 3 Ringo's.
I have that Beatles Story album as well.

I had never heard of the Story album until antique posted it on the OT a few days ago. But I am interested in it, and I got it from him for cheap.
I'm not that into all of those when it comes to vinyls, but I do have a Beatles jump drive with everything Beatles-related that I like. It has every album (from the Core group)_ they released, then the Anthology and Love albums as well. And then I have folders for each Beatle with their solo work that I like (though I mainly only like their popular stuff...I have like 25-30 McCartney/Wings songs, about 15-20 Lennons, 10 or so George, and 5-10 Ringos). But I listen to it on the reg though. I really enjoy listening through all of their albums and hearing them progress as artists. It's cool to see/hear.
I had recently pulled my old external hard drive out of storage and got it to work on my work computer, so I pulled all of my music off of it and bought jump drives to put it on. And I had forgotten that years ago one of my buddies had torrented all of those Beatles albums for me. So that was a nice surprise, and I just filled in the gaps of shite that I wanted and didn't yet have.

I went on a downloading spree when I got back on Usenet, and I grabbed a bunch of Beatles Story-type recordings. They were narrated, but unlike the listing of the link Cocomo posted, these had the Cavern days and had them doing One After 909 in the Cavern. I had no idea that they had more than just one or two recordings from the Cavern, but to hear 909 was a treat. Might be fake, the acoustics were shite, but it was cool to hear. The rest of the listings in the link seem in line with the rest of what I got, except it went all the way through Let It Be.
I got the Star Club album from JC Penny’s. It was upstairs and reduced. Don’t even remember what year I got it…late 70s or early 80s. THAT was a thrill!

That album is terrible.
Cool concept, but awful quality though.

That is fascinating. Thanks. The release time of 2am CST tonight can't get here fast enough.

Since your talking about HCTS, see if you like this cover/reinterpretation by world-class pianist Peter Bence (the fastest pianist in the world who holds the world record for the most key hits in one minute—765!) You may not care for it, but I think it is an almost angelic cover.

It’s only natural that they had music they wanted to put out on their own that wouldn’t be allowed as a “Beatle’s song.” Case in point would be While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Harrison and Clapton spent time after it was recorded tweaking (“flanging,” I believe they called it back then) Clapton’s guitar playing in order to make it sound more like a Beatles-sounding song
I’m not a huge Beatles fan, but a fan nonetheless. George has written a good bit of my favorite Beatles songs:
Something
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I, Me, Mine
Here Comes the Sun

yep. It is insane the amount of great music they put out in less than a decade before they even turned 30.

It’s over 7 hours across 3 episodes. 468 minutes is what has been published.

Technology is amazing that it can take 50+ year old video footage and make it look like it was shot yesterday in HD.
To be fair, they are only able to do that b/c it was shot on film.
Almost anything shot on film can be made to look nice.
Video though? That shite is rough. Once a lot of filming moved to video we basically had a couple of decades of media that now looks like trash.

First episode was 2hrs 37mins. So incredible.
There were moments when I literally got fricking chills watching some of these iconic hits being born into existence for the first time. The hair stood up on the back of my neck.

Not gonna lie…it’s got me emotional. When they were talking about Eric Clapton…I can see Clapton breaking down if he watched this and heard their praise…especially coming from George.
This is so fascinating

the editing at the end is so intense...from john and Paul to George and then back and forth. George is just seething
really powerful stuff.
although this is wonderfully done it’s a little uncomfortable. I just want them to get along LOL
the many moments when they are just happy and jamming out are a revelation

dick James: “do you want to have a look at what you own a half-percent of?”
George: “not really”

As the credits are rolling, they appropriately play George Harrison's "Isn't It A Pity". When Disney forces you out of the credits to suggest another movie, I clicked back to credits to hear the rest of the bluesy instrumental jam. Man, that version is spectacular.
I assume this is an unreleased version with the rest of Beatles playing behind George as I know the song never made any Beatles albums, only George's solos. George has a lot of versions and alternate takes of this song out there, but to know the Beatles are playing on this song (similar to the way I've heard Eric Clapton's band cover it), it is suddenly rising up into my favorites list.
