Is it just me, or has this place gone way downhill? I'm strongly considering never eating there again.

Last week after eating their jambalaya, I had a terrible stomach ache all afternoon with multiple trips to the bathroom.

That place has always sucked. Pot and Paddle is decent but still not great.

I've always been pleased with everything I've gotten from there, and the family that owns it is very friendly and gives back to the community.

One on Drusilla is always pretty good if you specifically ask for pork jambalaya.

Completely depends on the location with that chain.

Years ago, the original owners divorced and split the locations.

Government Street is always solid.
Siegen is usually good also.

To me it's good for what it is. While I always found it somewhat consistent, I did find a location or two that seemed to make the jambalaya a bit too "wet" for my taste, if that makes sense.

We like Pot and Paddle. We'll pick up the family 4 pack for dinner sometimes. It's about $20 and feeds all 3 of us with plenty of leftovers. It's a solid made for the masses jambalaya.

The Port Allen location had to be the worst of all. Hadn’t eaten at any locations in years.

The one in Lafayette isn't bad at all. At least it's cheaper than Wendy's/Cane's and you get enough to eat for $10.

Their locations are very inconsistent. The ones that also serve pork and sausage jambalaya tend to be significantly better than the ones that only serve chicken and sausage for some reason. Probably because chicken jambalaya is trash.

Had it at a school function last night. Rice was mush and white meat chicken = :yak:

Haven't been to a JS in ages, but I used t work near the Gov't St location. I really liked their jambalaya -- not too moist, but not dried out either.

Also they would sometimes give me huge portions for no reason at all

None of the jambalaya places around here know how to cook a jambalaya. The best jambalaya comes from the guys who cook at fundraisers.

The one in Thibodaux isn't terrible but it really lacks in flavor, which I understand somewhat. Depending on what we're cooking for supper, the kids will go pick up JS every so often. I'm fine with it because it's better than some of the other fast food options. I've never ate it, though I have tasted it a couple times in the past when my son gets it. If I'm craving jambo I just make it myself.

Side note: some friends did a shrimp/oyster jambalaya for the Big Boy Cookoff last wknd that was outstanding. I've never made that combo because the wife and lil girl don't eat oysters.

I have seen no change in their product, which is very good for the price. I just wish they would put more sausage in the jambalaya.

This. If we plan to get a large bucket to eat on for a few days we will add our own sausage because there is hardly any .

Yeah their jambalaya looks like it might be a 1:1 ratio (meat to rice) whereas I and most everybody else cooks a 3:1 ratio. All about that profit margin and I'm fine with that. It's business.

Since all of them are different owners they are all a little different, the one on Airline in Prairieville has menu items the one in gonzales doesn't have.

Pork is way better than the chicken one.
Who knows right now, the price of ingredients may be hurting them right now.
