They are Shaun's journals not jackies

In epsiode 6, where Shauna goes to have brunch at Jackie's house, Shauna goes into Jackie's room and starts going through her things.

She opens one of Jackie's journals and reads a list of songs and movies (plus an old game of M.A.S.H.).

does that say Outkast Which ones specifically came out later. That is very interesting, so who would be writing in it? Shauna her self? The parents? Jeff? lol

Here are the rest of the pics from her journal.

Someone on Reddit did the work for us:

quote:

The plane crash was in the Spring of 1996.

From Jackie’s Journal:

Songs: Wannabe by the Spice Girls didn’t break in the US until 1997. Some of the other song dates might be later as well.

Movies: The Craft and Scream were late 1996. Some other borderline release dates too.

But this ??

Movie Characters I Would Be:

Rose Dawson from Titanic - Released December 1997

Sydney Prescott from Scream - Released December 1996

Torrance Shipman from Bring It On - Released August 2000

Angela Hayes from American Beauty - Released September 1999

Kat Stratford from 10 Things I Hate About You - March 1999

LINK

The handwriting looks different on that last page, so maybe Shauna wrote in the journals when she got back

Husbands list she has Travis. The show makes it like Jackie barely knew Travis or ever gave "Flex" a second look. Kind of weird she would have him listed in her journal like that. Gotta love shows like this and the internets ability to research every minute detail. That is hilarious they are finding things like the license plates. The directors probably weren't expecting every single thing to be taken as a clue.

The journals are very interesting.

ETA: didn't notice this and will have to rewatch to see (someone may have mentioned it) but at the beginning was Shauna masturbating in Callie's bedroom? IF so that is pretty weird lol.

I kept wanting to bring this up earlier. Yes, she was, and it looked like she was looking at her daughter’s homecoming/prom pictures for “inspiration.”

Maybe fantasizing about the better days and the high school events she missed in 1996.

I thought that was a picture of young Jeff (because this was before we really knew the characters) and it was showing Jackie and young Jeff sneaking out of her house around that time. I need to rewatch. It is like she definitely is jealous of her daughter's younger days.

The finale was a little disappointing

The only thing I was disappointed about was how uneventful the reunion was. I expected some shite go go down.

I don’t know how hypothermia works, but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t sleep through it, right? Like you’d wake up cold over and over, so are we to assume Jackie was so mad she chose to stay outside and freeze to death? That was disappointing, but played pretty well anyway.

I’m pretty sure that was accurate enough. Hypothermia is going to drain you if your energy and make you to sleep anyway.

Am I the only one who thinks the shrine and dog head could be the son instead of Taissa? I realize she’s the obvious and implied choice, but they beat us over the head for half a season about how fricked up that kid is.

Could be. The doll did go from ripped up to put back together.

His drawings that were stuck to the window do depict some things he probably shouldn’t “know” about, unless sleepwalking Tai told him about the things and it is all just a response to her leering at him crazily from the tree.

Sounds like Shauna

Husband: Jeff
Job: Mom
Lives in: New Jersey
Pet: Rabbit (until she gutted it and used it for chili)

ETA:
looks like under her hand could possibly say "for shauna"

I think it does. Which would make sense as Jackie was always looking out for Shauna and trying to help her, albeit maybe in a little too controlling fashion.

Over/Under on Tai's wife coming out of that cellar alive? Tai, presumably wasn't home as she was at the campaign thing, but I have a feeling that either the son or Tai once they find out is going to get rid of her.

The final look on Tai's face when she won in "an upsetting victory" leads me to believe she either has the cult behind her/she is still using the wood magic/or she is still making sacrifices and probably had Travis killed.

I also found it interesting that all evidence lead to Travis not committing suicide and Shauna calmly, and in true sociopathic fashion, told her that Travis killed himself as she's cutting Adam up, and all of a sudden Nat believes it. Shauna even lied (I think) about being with Adam the night Travis died (although that could have been accurate). But it's like she didn't want Nat to keep going down that rabbit hole. I don't think any of them trust, or can trust, each other.

Maybe Jackie isn’t dead. She definitely looked like she was frozen stiff but we never see them bury her. Maybe she regains consciousness miraculously. They thought Van was a goner too and set her on fire.

Interesting theory. She was in her letterman, which Shauna has. Could be, I am not taking anything as fact on this show until I see it and even then I question it. Either way, I think we see Jackie flashbacks or Shauna having visions of Jackie going forward and talking to her (not necessarily in a haunted way but in the way a guilty traumatized person would speak to a dead friend in her head. I liked Jackie's character a lot, and I think fans did as well, so I bet she will be around in one way or another in the next season.

ETA: then again this place obviously has some wonky spirit shite going on so maybe people that die there never really leave? IDFK.

The Jackie death was extremely weak, although the writing is so bad I wouldn't be surprised if she's still alive somehow. This show has gotten progressively worse as it went on, think I might be done. Don't know if I'll watch any of season 2.

I thought it was handled well. Everyone was expecting a murder, not Jackie the queen of arrogance to die from a broken spirit because her best friend betrayed her. I guess you could say her arrogance let her die by staying out there so long. But I thought it was a big twist and will be important overall somehow.

That was her protecting her husband since he was the one blackmailing them. She couldn’t let them know Jeff was the one.

No I caught that. But it only drives home further that they can't trust each other. Maybe Shauna doesn't have any skin in the game as far as finding out what happened to Travis, but I bet Tai does and the cult definitely does. Natalie should have answered her phone.

ETA: we never got to hear Adam explain, as he was murdered quickly, but maybe he wasn't just a random fanboy artist. Maybe he was involved with other people, we don't know. We still don't know what Jeff was doing with the Journals (which is annoying). I think Jeff is up to his own thing still.

Jackie was the last representation of "society" within the group. She was still grounded in the real world, and wasn't buying into Lottie's mystical BS. Jackie had to die so that the group could sever ties with the real world and accelerate the creation of Lottie's cult.

I think the way Jackie died is important because it's going to be the trauma that Shauna deals with for the rest of her life and is going to completely alter Shauna's character arc.

SEMI-SPOILERS FROM INTERVIEWS WITH THE CREATORS....

The creators have confirmed that Jackie is dead, but they very vaguely said she will be involved in future episodes. So maybe as a ghost, maybe she gets brought back to life, who knows.

I noticed the girl standing over the pit had the Coed naked shirt that red was wearing when attacked by wolves.
