Yep. Jackie had been resigned to the fact they were going to die. Like you said not eating and having pretty much a frick it attitude.

Just giving you a hard time bro
The finale left me pretty unsatisfied tbh.. a lot of questions we'll have to wait to get answered.
I guess I'm most curious about the symbols that were already in the woods. How did Lottie (and others) get looped into the cult?
I've got a sneaking suspicion that Van is still alive.

That's what I think as well. She is a main character in the flashbacks.

I know lol
I too am very curious about the symbols. Started the rewatch and in the first scene I originally thought it was Lottie (it could be) but it didn't really look like her (although I read they used extras for that scene to keep the story underwraps. But as someone else mentioned, all the humans making animal calls sounded a lot like Lottie when she went full crazy on the shrooms.
Looks like she was wearing Jackies dress (minus the blood) but I could be wrong and Sloth already said that the set designers did that on purpose.
ETA: I have a feeling Van might still be alive as well. Interested in what tf happened to Javi. I'll double check on the rewatch but I don't think anyone but Lottie noticed the symbols and she never told anyone. I wonder if the others just didn't notice or if Lottie was seeing them in her weird vision/lack of medicine condition.
Also notice in an early episode there are like 30 kids when they go jump in the water. Where did they all go?

Jackie is dead, but she will be involved in future episodes
I'm trying to remember—wasn't Van "dead" after the wolf attack, and woke up when they were trying to burn her body on the pyre?
I think it's possible that Jackie is also "dead," but will wake up again, which would explain some of the foreshadowed/future events that don't currently make sense.

But usually I hate long drawn out shows but for some reason I really liked this one and don't mind another season or two to let the full story play out. I feel like there is A LOT of potential here.
I fear for our future in this impatient, instant gratification age. Hahaha.

As long as it airs this year, I'll be fine lol. If they pull a Stranger Things then not so much. But this show has had a lot of hype and momentum recently so I would think they want to get another one done asap and capitalize on the popularity while they have people's attention.

One question I had after watching the finale...at the end of the reunion when Nat is looking into the trophy case we see a team photo then we see yearbook photos of 8-10 players as well as a photo of the coach, Javi, and Travis. Are these the photos of the people that have died?

This is my thought as well. They had a whole team full of girls - some of them are just "there" and we haven't even learned their names/who they are. Since they've already killed off Jackie (a central character) and Laura Lee (tertiary character), I'd be surprised if they killed off (in the flashbacks) another central character.
11 starters on the team - so you'd think there are ~20 girls on the team. My guess is at least a handful of the background girls aren't going to make it out of the wild.
Another thing that made me laugh was the girl whose leg got broke and didn't make the trip - she developed a helluva accent between high school and present day
All that said - you seem just like me - probably reading waaaay too much into things

wasn't she a freshman or something anyway?
why was she at the 25 year reunion...maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought I remembered something about her being JV maybe

I noticed that too. I need to rewatch.

Not sure I like the way the season ended... They should have at least played into the opening scene of the girl falling in the trap. I don't think that is mentioned again unless it's much farther in the story and coming in the following seasons.

Of course it’s later in the story. The night Jackie dies is the first snow fall we’ve seen. The opening scene looks to be dead in the middle of winter, and the 6 survivors are all wearing furs that appear to be made out the the bear that Lottie just killed. I suspect season 2 will bring us up to that point.

Good point. I love how the snow was random like they weren't expecting it and didn't notice it coming and overnight it was like a foot. I imagine Lottie keeps getting animals to come to her for food and furs and they end up following her, or atleast to some degree.

Amazon is offering a Showtime subscription for $.99 for two months, but the offer ends today
I know it’s late, just like me to the show but Showtime is doing a 30 day free trial. On Amazon it was offering 7 days, went to Showtimes website on my phone and it was 30 days. It’s only $99 for a year, I don’t know why all of these streaming services don’t allow a years pay in advance.

Some do I think. But they probably sneak a "renewal fee" into it that no one notices on the first of the year, or they put one separate from the payment in the month that you signed up and expect people aren't going to check. I think I had two Hulu bills at the start of this month (Jan) and one was like $5. I need to go double check.

Finally, some Yellowjackets Season 2 news...
Variety Article
If production doesn't start until late Summer...we're not getting Season 2 until like Q1 2023, right?
quote:
In conversation with Variety, Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle confirmed second two will continue to see the team trying to survive the winter.
"We are definitely re-visiting the winter storyline. We’ve been calling Season 2, ‘The Winter of Their Discontent.’ We’ve been in the writers’ room for several months now, and we’re circling a late summer production start."
