I think other theories will cascade from there. Right now it’s hard to guess what’s what.

If there is a “cult” or tribe in the wilderness (whoever) is drawing the symbols. Would we be introduced to them in the finale. Besides hunger of course is it just crazy Lottie that initiated the split in the group. Really a ton of stuff to be answered. If there is another group the obvious leap is that they are cannibals and part of the girls joined them either willingly or by force. It could be the opposite though. They are nature loving and live off the land and the “Misty” group started hunting them along with the girls that sided with them. So many questions.

It is annoying that they haven’t answered basically anything at this point, including the symbols on the trees. But that could actually be something simple like the previous cabin owner put them all over to help him find his way around the woods.

I fully expect to be let down by the finale. But I hope they at least advance the plot a little bit.

Not disclosing what happened to Jackie is what’s keeping this show suspenseful.

Well shite, just watched the finale, and it definitely answers the question of what happened to Jackie. Pretty pissed that that was the outcome. It was super dark in the Shauna dream sequence, but did anyone know who the older guy was who was standing in the shadows and spoke to Jackie? ETA: The internet seems to think that guy is dead attic guy.

Ricci has killed it all season, but DAMN, she was amazing in the season finale.

Loved Taissa's secret altar room. That was creepy AF, and not surprised that that's what happened to the family dog.

Kinda pissed we didn't get any hints about who had carved the symbols in the trees out in the woods. They were there before the plane crashed, so they can't be a result of Lottie's cult.

ETA 2: So Adam had to have been a part of the cult, right?

Also, apparently Lottie says the following in French at the end, "Spill the blood, my beautiful friends."

Btw, the Yellowjackets Reddit page is KILLING it with memes. I'm dying

The last few minutes was wild

Jackie’s banishment and the result of that… sigh.. hated that’s how that went down

Natalie getting kidnapped by the people with the symbol in their necklace

And the banker chick saying Lottie had emptied travis’ account

Solid finale overall

That's not exactly what she said. She asked who Lottie was. Doesn't necessarily mean it was Lottie who did it. Lottie clearly led the cult at some point, so the people who kidnapped Natalie were likely followers of that cult. But I still think Lottie might be dead at this point.

ETA: SPOILER FROM INTERVIEW WITH THE CO-CREATORS....

Deadline asked: One of the big reveals is that Lottie is probably still alive. The feast in the pilot shows six survivors. Is it safe to say that she's the sixth there?

One co-creator (Nickerson) replied: "It's safe to say that Lottie is still alive. I don't think it's really a spoiler to say that she will kind of figure prominently into season two."

The other co-creator (Lyle) said: "I don't know we should assume that these survivors that we see at the feast are the only survivors."

What an odd way for Nickerson to answer the question. So, Lottie is alive, but might not be in that scene!?

And Lyle seems to be suggesting that the group does break up into different factions.

Wild finale, but still have so many questions. And Ricci was incredible this episode. That Jackie cabin scene was creepy as hell. Is the guy in the shadows maybe the guy with the long hair and hollow eyes? He looked to have shorter hair in the cabin.

Ghost in the cabin could point to some supernatural elements but likely not the center of the plot. Jackie thing was just sad and well handled. Lottie on the other hand just hasn’t played enough of a role so maybe that’ll change next season.

I was wondering if maybe Lottie is the chick running into the pit in the pilot. I went back and watched the opener after the finale. Also, was it discussed/determine who is rocking the pink shoes that stands over the pit?

The fact that the bank lady mentioned her name indicates she survived but this show thrives on misdirection so you never know. Also, the point of showing Jackie as a “ghost”, I wonder if that’s the supernatural angle go forward and her role?

All these questions are a good thing for the show. We’re all engaged by it clearly LOL

I think that's Lottie, but the creators of the show have said some stuff that makes it seem like maybe it isn't.

Pretty sure that's Misty.

It's wild that only Travis and Nat have even acknowledged his absence.

Holy Chit baws. I liked the episode even though it made for more questions. Jackie's death was just sad. Died from a broken spirit (even though she had her issues). The symbol of the people from the cult was as good as any indication that there is one out there. I'm guessing Lottie kept it going and the others went back to their lives and Lottie found new followers.

Jackie's dream/vision the man in the corner honestly looked like Jeff to me (but I don't think that is who it was). Laura Lee was there, among others, are those supposed to be the people who didn't survive? I thought I saw coach and Travis there.

The Tai shrine has me wondering if she's never stopped the cult, because running for office it would be pretty easy for the cult to ruin her or make contact.

I had a feeling that cigarette was going to be laced, but Misty did it perfectly. Damn I wonder when the next season will come out. I can't imagine they have that long with the ages of all involved, to make it look coherent.

ETA: Also, Javi being gone is interesting. Was that the bear heart that Lottie gives to the tree or Jackie's (someone else's like Javi?) lol

Based on its size, it had to be the bear heart.

Yeah that is what I was thinking, then I was thinking maybe it was some glump of organs just mashed up being offered. But I think you are correct. So many questions and so many ways for this to go forward.

ETA: the fixer lady and why Tai never revealed that she hired her. That has "cult" contact sort of written on it, imo.

Jackie had airs about her but Shauna to me is the most despicable character on the show. Nobody has more blood on their hands and yet still gets to play victim. It’s a well done character.

I agree they did a good job of making the viewer sort of have empathy or like her early on and show her progression to becoming a vile character. Misty was always crazy. Natalie had a really bad upbringing and was always sort of lost. Tai always seemed like a realist with ambition, but Shauna is in my opinion the one we really see deteriorate.
