Only thing I have against him. If you don’t think that’s an issue, you are the problem. You’ll never win a championship if your mindset is “LSU recruits itself.” Florida said the same thing.. now they’re fighting for their lives against Samford

That only thing is a huge thing tho. In his defense it is Baylor, but he was never this savvy recruiter at LSU either

Not saying he couldn’t with the right staff, but recruiting is even more important in the SEC where you are facing a disproportionate share of programs with elite classes versus this BIG12 which is more of a median talent level.

Did I miss something while he was at LSU? Defensive recruiting seemed to be just as good as it always has been. Linebackers especially.

ETA: Even if he isn’t the best recruiter, he can hire people to fill in a little deficiency there if it exists. You’re not getting a head coach that is an expert at everything.

I agree recruiting is Paramount but Florida isn't lsu. We don't have multiple colleges we compete with within our State.

Also, he did just fine with recruiting while at LSU and Baylor isn't any better or worse on average in recruiting rankings with him there so I would put more of a question mark around his recruiting than anything.

You must have.. he was beat out consistently on some of our first targets. See Monty Rice and Nakobe Dean

Seriously lacking? That's a bit dramatic.

Do you know how stupid that is? Aranda is in his 2nd season and still doesn't have the players he wants.

Just f'ing stupid

currently 6th in big 12 conference; 33 overall. Iowa state has a better class. Plus they’re at 19 commits so it’s not like they just don’t have the players yet. The class is almost finished

Arandas first year they were 41st nationally

So…. you can only think of two players? Is there a coach alive that gets every single player they go after?

Has nothing to do with his inability to recruit in the SEC

I immediately named two. The guy can’t recruit effectively. Certainly not enough in the SEC.

If you can’t accept this, you’re hopeless

Baylor is recruiting as well as it did before Dave got there. So he recruits just as well as Rhule. I don't see anyone complaining about Rhule's inability to recruit.

We also had a defensive, recruiting ace head coach and didn't get those guys.

Dan Mullen is just lazy. Dave Aranda is far from lazy.

It may not be his “strength” but he’s certainly not terrible at it like Dan is.
